Re: "Pics of You" Discussion Thread
You're always copying someone else. It's a pre-determined style. To even be labeled as it you must fit into the definition.
no it's not?.
Yeah, the style has a consept. But we who likes to dress like that can alter it according to our own taste. There is of course those who follows the style like slaves. Though. There is no style without people doing something different about it in the first place. Just growing your hair "emo" is enough to be called emo over here. Which means that you basically judges us by the hair. The clothes can be basically whatever for you to label us.
But once we dress up, you still call us emo, but this time with a nicer tone.
I can't really see what's the big issue. It's just a clothing style.
I also noticed that your reaction to that person saying that he wanted his hair kinda like mine was something like: "No. Don't go EMO, seriously don't!!".
It is just a hair-cut for pies sake.
I haven't copied anyone for instance, I just have my origin point. I like people being individual. And right now your whining is getting on my nerves.
Those long haired, muscled, band or harley davidson, motorbike guys all seem the same to me too. They remind me of my steph dad. All selfish and wannabe-cool. My steph dad is currently in some trouble due to child abuse (me included in that case mind you). And all guys I see, long haired, maybe bearded, muscled. Reminds me about him.
BUT EVEN SO. I do not judge them all just because they have the same clothe codex. It is unfair to look at them all like my steph-dad. You just don't do that.
Everone, tries to be individual in their own way. I for example make my own clothes. Simply by ripping apart two pairs of jeans then sewing them back together as one. Maybe adding some spikes and pockets as I do so. Ends up as some baggy light/dark blue baggy jeans
.
I don't dress after the so called "pre-determined style", I dress in the clothes I like, but yet I'm called emo.
How can someone dressed in (clothes I'm wearing atm) baggy blue pants, green and yellow converse shoes, a pink belt, a black belt, a pink and black t-shirt, a green, yellow and white shirt, a white wristband and a pair of blue and grey socks still be called emo?. (My hair is also Violet and Orange atm.)
When the emo-style according to you seems to be just: Black and Red, and maybe pink, extra tight clothes and maybe a baggy bag!.
The "emo style" is ALOT! And it is what you make it. As long as it fits under the genre of the style (as if we're talking about music.)
I for example look at myself as one on the edge of the style. But even so, my friends look at me as a... (i don't know what to call it without sounding corny...) FELLOW EMO KID. I'm more of a clown in my eyes really. But whatever.
Some of my friends to tend to follow the style down to the book yes. But they are still human.
Now stop that whining. Let's find something else to talk about. I hate this conversation. I'm discussing this with so many people every week it's starting to tire me.
If you think we all look the same then that's your issue, and right now it's mine aswell.
Becuz this really *bleep*s me of
*girly screeeeaaaam*

Re: "Pics of You" Discussion Thread
tl;dr.
you can alter a pre-determined style all you want, but it doesn't make it any more individual since you still conform and identify by a certain look.

Re: "Pics of You" Discussion Thread
its not surpossed to be attractive, its just some people's style......
I know it's a type of style people like. That's fine. But then if it's not supposed to be attractive, what is it supposed to be? Cute? Ugly?

Well basically. There isn't any style in particulary I find attractive :-P .
A style is a style. Wether or not it is attractive is decided by others, and the person who dresses in that particular style.
It's not like EVERYONE who dresses "emo" is attractive
. Many of them can still be Cute, Ugly, Weird etc etc. It's up to the people who sees the person dressing in that style to determin wether the PERSON is attractive or not.
I've never heard about an ATTRACTIVE sweather for instance. And if there ever was one, it wouldn't be like everyone who wore that sweather would become attractive.

YEs indeed. But basically all styles cept from the random "I think this T-shirt really suits me" style iz liek dhat.
Take that (hated) "GaNgSTA''" stuff for instance. It confirms your identity, by a sertain look... ![]()
A style is supposed to be an identity after all. Your clothing can pretty much reveal you to others if you dress after your own mind.
Like me. COLORS! I luv COLORS!!! And contrasts, and lights, and neon-colors... and and Converse shoes... and and belts ( has looooaaads of belts
), and Hairrrc0l0rz

Re: "Pics of You" Discussion Thread
Because, emo is one of the most despised cliques you can get into.
Like seriously in mexico they are actually beating up emo kids or something like that.
If you have to, go goth (but real goth, not hot topic mallgoth).
in england a goth couple wer beaten and the girlfriend protected her botfriend but her head was stamped on she was killed cause she looked different
tl;dr.
you can alter a pre-determined style all you want, but it doesn't make it any more individual since you still conform and identify by a certain look.
but everyone does that chavs punks gays everyone not just emos
theres a song on youtube called EMO and part of it says me and my friends all look like clones as in they are emos so they look alike in style however others personalise it don't keep it the same and they make the look theirown

Darkmaster and RD12...your hair color's fine. What difference should that make, anyways? Everyone shouldn't have to follow the crowd.
I don't have a good photo of myself, Light...I'm going to have to take one. (once I'm able to find and sneak away my aunt's camera.)

Re: "Pics of You" Discussion Thread
because I'm used to doing that on websites like myspace and msn. I only said I'm 14 on here because I trust nobody is a child predator... nobody on these forums, at least...
In fact, if you don't believe me I can give you proof.

@ Stormy: Nice dress. How was the homecoming dance?
@ Fletch_Talon: Haha, you should have got a shot from the front after the girls finished with your hair.
@ Cynder7: From that pic, it looks like it was both rainy and windy.
@ Atresac: How do you get your hair to stick up at the front? And I’m guessing your shirt says ‘Vote Obama ’08?’
@ Cooldude22345: Lol you look way tired... or bored at your atom lesson, one of the two.
Feel free to PM me anytime if you wish to talk, even if its just to randomly say hello

I just throw in some gel or wax or whatever's nearby and put it in the front and pull it up.
As for the shirt

[sub]Thanks.
It was... interesting. It was the first time I'd ever been to a dance; I didn't expect everyone to gather into a big mob like they did. But it was fun anyway. [/sub]
