Anyone hate the original games?

The old Spyros, especially 2 and 3 were pretty much variety games, taking in all the minigames and stuff.

I thought the original three were more entertaining and comedic than any other Spyro games actually.

Even though i do not share that opinion, i find that understanding, some people just dont like the exploration- finding gems or the variety of minigames, maybe a bit too much? Or maybe they just love to kick butt- TLOS

There is some things i hate about Spyro 1 like no swimming and hovering but apart from that i dont hate it

Spyro 3 had some flaws
1.Glitchy (but tyhey were fun anyway excluding the Farm glitch)
2.Collecting all the gems to get 100% was a pain (For some people, anyway)
3.Skateboarding wasn't good enough (i thought the minigame was good, but some thought it left out some great parts of any skating games)
4.Too easy and the enemies are too easy to kill (I didn't mind this, but others did)
5.Crappy 117% boss battle and ending (i agree, probably because they rushed it, but i couldn't blame em, it was made in only 1 year)
6.Cant replay most minigames (This flaw was annoying)
7.Music wasn't as good (debatable)
8.Levels too small

To me Spyro 1-3 we the greatest..

1.They wre fun
2.Hey had FRIENDS not the world hating on 1 little dragon
3.You could learn new abilities.
4.Hunter,and Bianca
hey I could keep on going!

someone that got into the series through TLOS series and really likes that alot and then plays the origanal series coukd be a bit disapointed by them i guess

that could happen, the difference in control scemes, the graphics, the sudden change in gameplay, they could get dumfounded
But people like me that play Original Spyro on a regular basis, are not a fan of unneeded change for the worse, and knew all about TLOS before i bought it, probably made me not like TLOS that much. Do i hate TLOS? No, sometimes i say I Do, but thats normally because i hate it compared tothe original Spyro games, which were awesome awesomeness. And i know that some people dont compare them, but i do, because they are supposed to be the same series, you know, Spyro.

I totally agree, i love some of the featues in Spyro 2. Winter Turder oh mu gosh, its so beautiful! Summer Forest's Lake! so peaceful! Autumn Plains tower! Now thats just so awesome!

yeah, the Spyro 2 homeworlds are so peaceful, i love watching those frogs in Autumn plains, and i love going up to the top of that tower and gliding

Old ones were the best. No question there.

I think this thread adresses an interesting issue. We all grew up with the original spyro, but the people playing now are going to grow up with LOS, and to them, those are the originals, while the true originals are antiques.

Maybe part of why LOS has been accepted by parts of the fanbase while the old school doesn't really go for it is because the younger players never knew the glory days of spyro.

If i was younger and went straight for TLOS and then a few years later or months i tried out the originals, i would be pretty confused and probably think it is crap.

Bleh! Am I the ONLY one here that hates the old Spyro?! I've played season of ice, attack of the rynocs, and A hero's tail. Hate 'em all. But LoS is different though. Too bad TDH is the last one. sad

whoah buddy, season of ice, AHT? definitely not original spyro games. Spyro the dragon, Spyro: Ripto's Rage, and Spyro: Year of the Dragon are the originals. Those gamboy knockoffs were bad, yeah, but until you've played the real originals, you're missing out on a very good game. You see, a AHT is from the lowest point in the spyro series, coming right after enter the dragonfly. The LOS is alot better than those games, but those games were awful. You've got to try the true originals before you can knock old spyro.

What the heck cynderfan? Season of ice, Attack of the Rhynocs and AHT are not the old ones! Spyro the Dragon, Spyro 2 Ripto's Rage/Gateway to Glimmer and Spyro year of the Dragon are the old ones. Gah! I hate it when people who haven't played the old games slash them. Those games you mentioned aren't the classics.

I've played every Spyro game,and from what I can see I loved the first ones!They had the real fun in them..ahh,those were the good times,and still are!
