As I have said, I don't fault anyone for liking the books they like. Heck, I still read Anne McCaffrey and I have long since lost all respect for the woman. I read Mercedes Lackey books because they make me angry, too. big_smile We all like what we like and there's nothing wrong with that. I don't think less of anyone who happens to enjoy the Inheritance series, but I do take issue with people claiming Paolini is original and creative when he is far from it.

And Saphira was the only semi-bright spark in the series as far as I've read. I feel sorry for her. I'd hate to be chained, body and soul, to someone like Eragon. It just seems so unfair and I can't help but hope there's some loophole, on the off chance that she accidentally eats him or something, so she can survive without that annoying Gary Stu. big_smile

Gary Stu....one of the reasons why Eragon isn't my favorite character. He seems to know what the hell is going on all the time, and he usually always wins. I would laugh if Eragon was the person who died in the next book (There is a death), but I want it to be Ayra mostly. She sucks.

I might actually respect Paolini if Eragon died (or on the off chance that it turned out Galbatorix wasn't really evil at all and Eragon was actually fighting on the side of badness without knowing it). XD But I don't think it's likely. He's about as inventive as a turnip, probably less so.

My money is on Murtagh dying in some tragically heroic way.

I don't want Murtagh to die, either, since he's one of the only tolerable characters in the entire series. But I'd bet money that he will nonetheless.

When the green dragon hatches female and accepts Arya as her rider, I will be there to say "Told you it was gonna happen". big_smile

My thought would be that Rorans girl freind Katrina (what ever her name is) would some how become the rider of the green dragon. Because galbitorix woould, and has already forced a dragon to hatch for him, so sence the Ra' zack have katrina i think they will take her to Galbatorix and he will force the green dragon to hatch for her forceing Eragon to then go after the evil king, giving him the chance for both him and Murtagh the chance to kill him there on the spot so that Eragon would be out of thw way and Galbatorix would then take over the rest of aligasia (cant spell) with no problem.

Eragon was an awesome book, but Eldest was so BORING!!!!!!!!!!!!

The main problem with Eldest was that Eragon's training dragged on a bit, but the trouble was that if you didn't read the training part you missed a lot of vital information, such as Blagden's riddle and the Blood Oath Celebration. Though quite frankly the training didn't bore me, Roran on that bloomin boat did! The only interesting part in that bit of the story was when they ran the Boar's Eye and blew up half of Teirm pinching the boat!

I see your point there, but I've only heard of JRR Tolkien of what you listed, and I couldn't stand his writing. @_@

About Eragon and Eldest: I, personally, preferred Eldest because it was:

Longer
Got to learn some more about how they trained Riders and the Ancient Language
Another Rider (who brought some cliff hanger news)
Eragon's "brother" and all of Carvahal (or whatever) that's still alive knows why Eragon dissappeared and such

Don't get me wrong, but who doesn't rip off someone in their stories nowadays? You can compare most great modern films, books and songs to older ones and many of the ideas are still the same. Besides in the 3rd book its been announced that Eragon

and I don't remember Luke Skywalker or Frodo doing that. Though you are all entitled to your own opinions and I am not going to try and change them so please noone else come and try to change anyone elses who does like the books.
By the way how many of you know anything about the third book? I know its been changed to a cycle now and that the third book

??? the 3rd book is released on 23rd September (not sure if its this year or next, think its this year) and Paolini has announced earlier this month that the third one is gold and called Brisingr. He changed it to a cycle because he couldn't fit all the story into three books. So the fourth one will be green.

The last dragon is likely going to be male since Saphira is the only female left. I'm a huge LOTR fan so I can easily tell where Paolini 'got'many of his ideasa from. both Razzac, and the swords in the Hobbits have magical powers, and Eragon is a Gary Stu. He's become TOO powerful, almost deified. I've read both books, I much prefered the first. I did not see the movie, since I heard it stunk. I doubt they'll make a second film.

I doubt there will be a second film either. They should have waited until all the books were out, or like Harry Potter, get the author involved in the making of the plotline so they can judge what has to be in the storyline to make the film make sense. That was why the film Eragon was pants, it left out loads of major characters and information and some things were incorrect. Noone knows what Galbatorix even looks like yet for God sake, so why was he in the film?! If they do make Eldest into a film they will have to backtrack and make the film really long adding inportant facts that the idiots left out in the first one! ...... Rant over......
