Re: The Legend of Spyro: The Movie

I think that the movie is going to be all three games combined and a short time after the Dawn of the Dragon(DotD). I hope that if sierra/krome entertainment don't put spyro and cynder as siblings in the game and if they don't put them as mates, that the director of the movie puts them as mates because the movie will probably be either PG or PG-13, and they would go good together as mates

Re: The Legend of Spyro: The Movie

I highly doubt it will be PG-13...but if it is that's freaking sweet!!! But all the reviews and stuff I've read say that its for the children....soo...probably G =__=

I don't think it'll be G iDragon. It'll most likely be PG.

Re: The Legend of Spyro: The Movie

lol wouldn't it be funny if it ended up being rated r because it was so violent. that would be a shocker actually. but i guess pg sounds like a good rating since its a kids movie. nothing's ever g anymore.

Re: The Legend of Spyro: The Movie

its not goig to be R because the director is the same director that directed eragon but if it turns out being R(which i doubt) spyro and cynder would definatily become mates

And just what is wrong with G?  <_<  That doesn't necessarily make it a "kiddy" movie -- just as a PG-13 for violence wouldn't automatically make it a better movie. Remember that this is Spyro, an E rated series, and that E stands for "Everyone". It would be wrong to alienate the younger fans to please a minority.

It could easily be G or PG; right now I don't know which is more likely.

That's an exaggeration, but it might actually be a reason for them to aim for a G for Spyro. It could be a selling point.

Re: The Legend of Spyro: The Movie

I still have my hopes for a  'T' or 'M' (they're the same to me). I still don't understand what everyone has against Spyro being higher than PG! And it wouldn't make sense to have it rated 'G', because all the games so far have been higher than that. The Eragon and Harry Potter movies are 'M' yet they're intended for both kids and adults.

Re: The Legend of Spyro: The Movie

The movies are not rated M they are PG or PG-13. But I see how you got cofused. And they won't make a M rated spyro, Seira Ent. is to based on smaller children and not a more mature audience.

Re: The Legend of Spyro: The Movie

No, the two more recent Harry Potters are 'M', and so is Eragon. I have them on DVD. And I don't think Seirra is involved in the movie (I might be wrong). T.L.o.S is aimed towards an older audience than the old series was, so you never know. There's still a possibility smile.

Re: The Legend of Spyro: The Movie

Oh no ... You're still going on about wanting it to be rated M? Lol.
It's not going to happen and you know it. :-P

Also, Eragon is rated PG not M.

Guys, different countries have different ratings systems. Eragon is rated PG in the US, and M in Australia. I don't know how Australia's rating system works, but if Eragon got an M, then perhaps the Spyro movie could as well. However, it is extremely unlikely it will be anything more than a PG by US standards.

TheManiacOnWheels wrote:

It's completely unnecessary. The story can be told very well without extreme violence; you don't need gallons of blood to make the action intense. As for the other kinds of "mature content" -- sex, drugs, profanity, what have you -- what place does any of that have in a Spyro movie?

In turn, I don't understand why you want it to be higher than PG. What do you want from the movie that you don't feel PG or lower can give you?

Re: The Legend of Spyro: The Movie

To Epesi: Urgh! I never meant any of that stuff! I just thought, that because the games have been PG (in Australia anyway) the movie could take it one step further.
I've got nothing against it being PG, wink but I don't want it lower than that. Because the T.L.o.S storyline is fairly mature (if you take out the fact that the army consists of Apes and mushrooms are absolutely enourmous) I thought that it would be nice to give Spyro an 'M' to its name. (just to get back at people who scorn it for being 'a kid's thing) What I want from the movie...what the first two games haven't given me: blood. You can't go through a whole army, a giant dragon, and a big Ape, and not get hurt. (And, heh, I'm kind of bloodthirsty after Drakengard)
I don't want alot, just a bit, to make the battles more dire. I really don't care if it doesn't have that.
To Helldragon1: Urgh! WTH?
And that's the longest post I've ever written...and I'm not too proud of myself about it tongue.

Re: The Legend of Spyro: The Movie

I suppose I misunderstood your point somewhat due to the difference in ratings. It wouldn't be as big a deal if there was some blood (Spirited Away had quite a bit in one scene and still got a PG in the US, so animated movies can sometimes get away with more than live action). I still don't think it's necessary, but I wouldn't object to it either.

But as for "getting back" at people who think it's just for kids, I don't think a bit of blood would change their minds. Nothing but a dose of common sense can do that.

Re: The Legend of Spyro: The Movie

The differences in ratings are soooo confusing! In the UK the ratings are different to both the US and Australia!

Re: The Legend of Spyro: The Movie

To Epesi: I dunno about that. The fact that Spyro has never really had any violence at all before T.L.o.S...a bit of blood MIGHT change their minds a little bit...

Re: The Legend of Spyro: The Movie

AHAHAHHAHHAHA.
Not sure if it's funny or sad. I'll probably drag myself and my other Original-Spyro fan to the movies with me so we can poke fun at it and bug the people sitting behind us.
Really, these people killed him. It's not fair ;o;
But as long as there are still supported, go ahead and make it. I don't *have* to watch it, I don't *have* to play the new games. It's just depressing that nothing else good is going to come out of Spyro.

Riiiiight...I have to disagree with you on the matter of whether the T.L.o.S trilogy or the movie are good (I love T.L.o.S and I'm looking forward to the movie). Don't give up on Spyro just because what there is so far is not to your liking. There's still possibilities.

Re: The Legend of Spyro: The Movie

And you can't forget about what's to come after the TLoS series. Who knows, you might get back into it. wink

And be careful bothering people. If someone were to start bothering me after I've paid $7+ for a movie ticket, I'd cause a scene. wink
