Not Another Depressing Thread!

Yeah, im not that happy with myself these days for a number of reasons. And its been like this for a while though i was scared to share this with you, knowing that many people feel this way.

In real life im a very boring person. Get up, go to school, come home, go on the internet, watch tv, go on internet more. Normally on weekends i play with my friends though they're only 2 days. And in holidays i just loaf around. Now my life doesn't seem very hard at all yet this cycle is very hard on me psycologically. School is like torture to me, not just because its terrible itself, because i always THINK about how terrible it is. I wonder all day about all the reasons why i hate it and why i dont need to go there.
So basicly, school is nothing for me but a whole big burden. None of my friends are Hardcore Spyro fans like i am, though to call myself a hardcore spyro fan is not the truth itself. My contributions to the spyro communty are nearly non-existant. I'm either Complaining or thinking about what I can do for spyro. I dont go on the VU forums, i dont make spyro vids on youtube. Really, all i do is complain about TLOS, And Complaing about things is really the only thing holding me up these days.
I am actually pretty selfish and a big attension seeker and not a very nice person at that. I dont swear, i dont lay a finger on anyone though my thoughts are alot more drastic.
I have no real hobbies or Interests, i dont like or play sport (and i'm not good at it), i dont or even want to play an instrument, my gaming skills suck, my computing skills are awful, i suck at chores and i suck at everything.
And i go off into tangens....
Yet i have nothing to complain about, ofcource i havn't had any major deaths in my community, i arn't crippled or have a mental disorder. I'm not the ugliest person in the world.

Really, i dont have a life. Unless you count loafing off as a life. I'm a very very slow learner, When some people take a week to start Coding in gamemaker, i take 2 years....
I wish i would stop crying when i'm frustrated and start crying when someone dies.
I hope the future is much different for me than the present, because the present is not working for me.

Well let's see here. I am very lazy, I make my sibilings do everything for me, I absolutely despise children, I am probably the dumbest person in the world when it comes to computers math and history, I have the spelling capabilities of a 3d grader, I tend to not like people when they're better at videogames than me, I don't put any videos on Youtube (because I'm no good at making them), I make promises that I don't keep even though I could keep them, I like to pretend that I'm smart even though I'm not, I absolutely despise myself, I have brian damage... the list goes on.

That's who I am in the world outside the internet. If you ask me, looking at the list of things I've just written I wouldn't want to be my friend. But I'm a completely differen't person on the net (save for the stupidity roll ).
And from what I've read so are you.
I'm sorry you're so depressed none of the people around me are hardcore Spyro fans either. In fact most of them hate Spyro and think of me as a child for liking something so "infantile".
I've learned to ignore them but it is hard.
Nobody here hates you Ratchet.
I think of you as a good friend.
I tend to look at the good in people and ignore the bad. Which is yet another habbit I need to work on since it usually resultes in my being hurt by my so called friends.
I hope whatever is bothering you is worked out. Remember you've got friends here.

Well, my life is easy but kinda boring too. School is ok. No one gives me any crap, in fact a lot of people like me. The reason I despise school so much is because of all the class speeches/presentations we have to do. Speaking in front of crowds pratically makes me spaz out, and I know it's normal, but we have to do speeches like all the time. I do get good grades in school though, so I'm happy. But yeah, my life is kinda boring, I'd like to travel with my family more, but things cost money nowdays <_<

Maybe when Super Smash Bros Brawl comes out my life won't be so boring for a while. I mean, you can build your own stages!

I wonder how many people actually read these long rants :-P

I cant really do anything About my life. School is compulsary and so is all the work there. I dont have enough free time as it is, so taking classes on things is a no no. I am trying to imporve on things but i am a very slow learner.

We're not complaining, we're just stating the facts. At least I am.
It's better to let it out than hold it in anyway. Keeping that kind of stuff in can really do damage to a person.
I think that people are way to stuffy with their feelings. Then the people that aren't get criticized and mocked.
That's really not cool.
Boy's these days are taught not to cry. Why? What's so bad about it? Girls are allowed to cry. Are we not supposed to be feminin?
Alright then okay I can see that. But what's so bad about girls? They must be pretty terrible if we're not allowed to be like them. <_<

When I got to 8th grade, school started feeling like a waste of time, but yea, if we didn't have school, I couldn't be the smartest guy in my class anymore! lol

Let's see, I too despise school, I do really well but it is so hard to focus. The days just drag on and on for me, they are so boring. I don't have too many friends. I get mocked for what I wear and the things I am interested in (like Spyro) People always try to pick fights with me. I work out a lot so they want to see if I am really tough, but I admit I'm not. I would never want to harm anyone unless I needed to, people know that so they pick on me more. Outside of school I really have no life. My day is always usually the same, Go to school, go to the gym, come home, play video games, watch TV, ext. I never hang out with any of my friends outside of school(the few I have). There is a lot of other things but some are personal. I know how it feels to be depressed, because I am a lot of the time. I always try though to think of the positive things, which I know is hard at times, but it works. Anyone needs some one to talk to, I am here as well.

the parts i quoted sound almost EXACTLY like me xD
what i think you need is a different perspective on this.
you can always try turning this... "negative"... into a positive.
if you want to try that, read on:
not having a life isn't that bad. your world is actually more open that way. whereas, if you have a life, your world is limited to the clubs/teams you belong to.
also, if you don't have a life, life is just generally cooler and simpler to enjoy. there's no complicated schedule to follow, there's no limits.
not having a life also makes you think when you're bored, which can also lead to getting smarter big_smile [/b]

Super Mario Squig: The only things i've valued from schooling is the learning to read, learning to spell, learning to write, learning new words and simple maths. I dont mind learning things, but the education system today has a bad way of doing this. Besides, most of the things i've ever learnt are from things like T.V shows, video games, internet and even board games.

I'll rant later but all I'll say regarding school is this: don't stress over it too much. You shouldn't worry too much until grade 12 and beyond (university/college/other trade school). Then the education is about deciding your future career.

i want to start my career now! Game design- Has nothing to do with ANYTHIng you learn at school for what i know. Maybe Some Simple maths, Simple English and Art But thats it.

3. take it from a 7th grader, school sucks. but no matter how much it sucks, put up with it. if you put up with the crap now, you'll have a higher chance of getting a high-paying, enjoyable career when you're older smile

True, very true. When I was in grade school I based who I was on everyone else. I wanted to be cool like everyone else and do what everyone else was doing. I think the only good that came from that was my interest in Pokemon.

I mean look at me. I've got to be one of the only people who is as old as I am that has liked pokemon for as long as I have.
I know there are adults that like and play pokemon but most of thos that were introduced to pokemon in the third grade that are my age now don't like it anymore. Just about everyone around me hates it, but it's another thing I've learned to ignore.

I know it's hard. I know that kids can be ruthlessly crewl and adults that are supposed to be making sure bad things don't happen to the children they're supervising don't seem to notice or care that you are being verbally or physically abused. I've been there. My friends have been there. In my moms case her teachers were the ones doing the abusing.
People can really do damage by being crewl. Too many seem to not even care that the soul they're destroying is not their own.

Again I'm really sorry that this is happening to you. For me seeing a friend in pain is worse than experiencing it myself.
I really hope that things get better for you when you enter Highschool as they did for me.

There's a lot of stuff involved in game design. Have you took any computer courses that teaches you basic programming like Visual Basic or C++? Those should be helpful.
Physics is also helpful. I'm really bad at it, but I wouldn't be surprised if you needed to know how objects move and interact with the environment in a game.

Man, you're still young. Believe me, you'll see so much more soon. You'll eventually hit that wall. I did.
Instead of doing nothing right now, try to decide what you would like to do in the future. It may seem so far away, but time goes faster than you think.
School isn't always pointless either. I do agree though that there are some classes we take that will not help me in the future. For example, I plan on majoring in music. I have no clue where chemistry helps me in music ... Maybe I'll find out what my instrument is composed of and find out what chemical I can mix with it ... Never take chemistry...
Anyways, just be patient. Opportunity will come eventually.

Bmah: I Cant take any of those classes, theres no electives i year 8 at all. And you cant pick Game design as an elective anyway.
