Try this on for size:

I have made some new friends in my art class.

Some of them are in the after-school Anime Club (I think some students started it this year)

My friend called my house, but I wasn't home yet, and told my mom about it.

About a year ago my older sister found out that a few companies producing anime also have....erm....let's just say yaoi, yuri, and hentaii anime on their websites for little kids.

So now I had like one minute to try to explain to my mom that Anime itself was not bad, just the companies that produced it. But then she said, I quote. "But do you really want to support that kind of industry? No." Which means absolutely no. tongue

And that was that. Now I have no chance of going to this huge Anime convention in August. It's being held in a hotel that my friends mom works at, and so they got a free suite, and she was inviting all of us.

Not only that. But because of my mom's thick head and not even trying to hear me out or understand the true situation, I cannot even mention the word 'anime'. Without her already making a decision.

She does this continually. It is driving me nuts!

OMG! For crying out loud SONIC is ANIME! But I better not tell her that, or else she'll probably burn every Sonic thing that I own.

That's really unfair CR. I mean, not all anime is bad, and the fact that she's barring you from it, period, is completely unfair to both you and the anime companies.

Wow, that sucks really bad...... let me think, i have had these kind of situations too, my dad is such a hard head, its like impossivle to break...... hmmmmm....... have you told her that this thing is not envolved with hentei...... how about you just tell her to not take it that seriously, i mean OMG, you watch the show and get thier stuff not for the hentei....... hard to come up with an idea...

I KNOW! Just looked up 'anime' on dictionary.com, it's basically the phrase used for shows/comics/art made in Japan. Geez. I'm not supporting the 'bad' companies. I'm just freaking DRAWING! Oh well, I don't care what she says, she cannot keep me from drawing, that is a fact.

yup, that is the freedom of your own, man i cant belive your mom freaks over hentei, where do you live? Where i live p0rn and hentai are so recognized that its a common dailey thing we have to face, my town is messed up, my school especially

Drawing is a way of expressing yourself, and technically, your right to express yourself is protected by the Constitution. So... you're free to express yourself through your drawing, which is really good CR.

I live in florida. Geez. Not every single (bleepin) anime company is bad! Geez! I'll ask my sister to send me that article I found. Maybe I can try to explain it (very slowly of course) to her. I cannot wait until I'm 18, if I have a boyfriend then, I'll just move in with him, If not, my friends and I will share an apartment. tongue And there will be nothing she can do about it. And I'm serious too, this is definitely not the first time she's done this.

Where the hell did this article come from, i have never heard of official companies making hentai, it would crash their profits. anyways, not all the companies make hentai, its not like "Hey, we make animea, according to law 32, we have to make hentai,"

Exactly. And my mom is such a hypocrite. I feel like walking up to her and saying "We're not shopping at Wal-mart anymore. Because they support products made in China. And we don't want to support THEM do we?" because she's always talking about all sorts of crap but does nothing about it.

And she is so gullible. If someone posted a website with something like "China controls the US" or something. and made it all professional looking and the conspiracy theroy very convincing, she'd probably believe it!

I don't think Walmart existed in World War 2. Although I don't like Hitler, and the things he did, he was still a great leader. He did EXACTLY as he promised, bring Germany back out of the hole that England and France forced them in, unfairly by the way. He brought them out of the depression and gave them back their pride. I don't like Hitler, or his methods, but you have to admit, he was a brilliant leader.

oh well, like I think I've said before, only three years until I'm 18! And then I'm free! And I can make it too. I've checked appartment prices in Indiana (because we'll be moving there as soon as we sell our house) and you can get a 5 bedroom apartment that allows pets for only 300 bucks a month. Dude, I would just need to find like a three bedroom one if I had two room mates.

Yay! that cheered me up a bit! I'll be the singer! And the lyrics are okay, but they seem kinda depressing. Oh well, who cares, they are pretty ace for on the spot!

Forget the appartment! I'll go live in a dorm! If it's a private college, my mom won't mind, otherwise, she's afraid that I might drink too much at a party and fall off a balcony. (yes, she is THAT paranoid)

Lol, you should get a kick out of this. Every year, the seniors in French 5 (a college class, but in High School), well, they started it 2 years ago, it's called French Idol. Last year, I was the champion for it, for singing... YMCA (NOOOOOOOOOOOO!). Anyway, this year, I'm thinking of singing Crush 40's version of His World, but... A Cappella (No background music, just pure voice. AHHHHH! I'm gonna screw up the cues! lol)! Also, you have to sing the lyrics in French. It'll happen in March.
