Personal preference I guess... I still play the Originals, but I voted NEW for the storyline and action.

Well for most people they wouldn't after 10 years. What i was trying to say was that a fantasy game isn't supposed to be real, but i know what you mean anyway, The Old Spyros were like cartoons while new Spyro is in this dar, evil, real environment. Yeah, it really depends what you are after, i liked the cartoony aspect, and i like the real aspect, yet not really if it is dark.

Old Spyro wasn't being chased by huge she-dragons, apes, rescuing dragons, fighting larger than normal apes, fainting out of nowhere and awaking with new powers and such. I think this Spyro has good reason to be freaked and stressed.

To Ratchet: Stop picking on everyone who dares to prefer the new Spyro over the old. You do it on every single thread. You like the old Spyro better. We get that. But if people like the new Spyro more, they have reasons. Believe it or not, you are not the only person who likes the old Spyro more. Look around, there are plenty of them, so go chat with them about how much you love the old series and hate the new. I personally like the new series much more than the old series, but I still love the old series too. I just love the new series more. I prefer the new series over the old, but I also prefer the new Spyro as a character over the old Spyro. The old Spyro was WAY too cocky. I hate that kind of attitude, and unfortunately, it was his main trait. And I don't remember him showing much emotion. Cockiness seemed to be all he was capable of. The new Spyro, on the other hand, has a much better personality. He's kind, caring, actually seems to give a crud about other people... he has a heart. He doesn't act like a spoiled little brat. He actually shows emotion.

As for design, I say the new Spyro's design is much better. Sure, it's not the best-looking design, but I still say he looks more like a dragon than the old Spyro. Pretty much all the dragons from the new series look more like dragons than the dragons from the old series. I prefer his new design.

Conclusion: I voted for new Spyro.

Guys!We don't have to fight about whos better...I think that both of them have their ups and downs..we all know why were here at this site,and more importantly...why this site was made.We all like Spyro and no matter what we should always love Spyro old/new. Ratchet..just think...when people say that you can't beat classics,just wait another 5-8 years,and they'll say that the Spyro that Ignitus's 1#fan likes,and mostly a few hundred others.And Initus's 1# Fan....(just a suggestion)Ratchet has enjoyed the old ones because of how he looked,and his voice,and how he had UNLIMITED BREATH.He likes the new ones,but not as much as the old ones.....to me I've seen that the majority of humes like the new one.It seems as if people are forgeting about the true purpose of Spyro..yeah I like the new cinema feel,but that's not how Spyro was to be...he was to be a purple dragon that entertained the lives of kids,teens,and even adukts.To explore a fantasy world of dragons,and furries,and humes,etc. and to collect gems and beat up bosses....I rest my case.

How Spyro "was to be"? Why is Spyro "to be" like that? Why is it obligatory for him to be that way?

I really don't get it. Why is it that Spyro means silliness and gems and infinite breath? Because the Insomniac came first? If TLoS had come first, no one would be saying "that's how Spyro was meant to be, he is the origin of Spyro". HYPOCRACY!

I don't think anyone can say what Spyro was "meant" to be. And what's more, TLoS Spyro and Insomniac Spyro are supposed to be two completely different Spyros.. TLoS is a reboot, has NOTHING to do with the old series. So why should the new Spyro be expected to be like the old Spyro? I understand if people dislike it for its own faults, but I do NOT understand when people criticise it ONLY because it is NOT exactly like the Insomniac games. Judge it for what it IS, give it credit for its own good parts, don't always compare it to the old series, stop expecting it to be like the Insomniac games. TLoS is its own series, NOT part of the old series. But everyone always expects it to be like the old series.

Also, NO, you're wrong about Ratchet. As far as I can tell, he hates the new series completely, and bashes it with every occasion. Also, even if he doesn't hate the new series, he still has no right to pick on everyone who prefers the new Spyro over the old. Even on a poll about if people think YotD was the best SPyro game, where one of the choices was "I prefer TLoS", a friend of mine voted for TLoS, and Ratchet automatically saw and said "Nope, it has good story but YotD is still better" or whatever it was he said. ANd my friend didn't even POST on the thread, he only submitted a vote. Ratchet needs to STOP picking on every single TLoS fan.

Also, stop complaining that people don't appreciate the old series. Yes, new Spyro is in the lead on this poll, but there were still many people who voted for the old Spyro, and outside of this thread, there are still many people who think the old Spyro was better.

Also, on a side note, I'd like to say that although the old series had good gameplay, what else did it have? That is my problem with the old series. It had good gameplay, but nothing else to offer. It had next to no plot. There were a fair amount of characters who had good personalities(though there were so many pointless/bad ones), but the fact remains that the characters NEVER showed any emotion(Bianca is the only exception). There were never any meaningful moments, nothing that made you smile or feel good inside. Just cockiness, silliness, and wit. But no emotion, or meaning. Everyone says the new series characters are stereoptypical, but so were the old series ones. Spyro, the typical cocky hero; Hunter, the clumsy sidekick; Elora, the very nice, helpful girl; Bianca, the bad girl who had a heart and decided to join the good guys; they were all just as typical. The difference is, the old series characters had nothing to look beyond the surface of. It was their personalities, and that's IT. There was nothing for you to wonder about them; some of them had great personalities that made up for this, but most of them didn't have personalities that made up for the fact that they weren't interesting. In the new series, yes, most of the characters are typical, but there is plenty to look beyond the surface of; I'll use my favorite character, Ignitus, as an example. He seems like the usual father figure character, right? Well, that's if you only look on the surface of his personality. Firstly, I Dont pick on New Spyro on "every single thread", pretty much only the threads which incurrage debate or have a topic to debate on, like this one. And I think that some people on this site Take debating among other things WAY TOO SERIOUSLY. Not to be mean, but some people here are a bit too critical and defensive.
You make it sound like i PM everyone and Crash very TLOS thread and say "TLOS sucks", i am not that kind of Person and most of the time i look on both sides of the argument. Most people just pick on me because i am the most well known "TLOS hater" on this forum. I know that many people like TLOS here, and i am not going to say that they are "wrong" for liking TLOS, or bash them, i simply quote their comments and tell them What i think, there is NO offence there, it is only opinions, got it?

Your information on old and new Spyro's personality i have replied on timesand times befire, saying something like "No one is perfect, but TLOS Spyro IS perfect", old Spyro had to have a bad trait, and that happened to be it, he did care for others otherwise he wouldn't have rescued dragons, save avalar or rescue the baby dragons. Saying who looks like a dragon nd who doesn't isn't relevant, seeing there are many kinds of Drgons.

See that is the Problem, THE REBOOT. Why did they need to reboot a perfectly good series, one that could be changed so they could fit things. Spyro was a flexable series, one which could be changed. Now what i MEAN by that is that You could Change Spyro into a different Storyline, ofcource you have to keep the characters roles but you CAN change the storyline. I would of been alot happier if they kept the old Characters and storyline, made the Storyline alot mre complex (but sill correct) and then changed the GAmeplay. OK, maybe i WOULD mind it, but TLOS putting the Spyro logo on it is the main thing that makes my blood boil. They arn't 2 different Series because TLOS does have the Spyro logo, if it didn't and was another character, i wouldn't care. I wasn't picking, i was just saying my opinion, Ignitus. I never said you had to respect or whatever the old SEries.

I dont want to get into this debate, its iving me a headache. LOOK everyone, NO series is "better" in fact. Its all everyones opinions, if you enjoyed TLOS, you think its better, i dont care anymore. Comparing the Original Spyro to the TLoS Spyro is kind of comparing a puppy to a cat. They are two different entities and there is no basis for comparison.

I like the origanal Spyro look and personality. He looked much less ugly in the origanals and i liked it how he was a bit cocky. It suited him.

Meh, whatever. I like T.L.o.S more. I'm proud of that. I wish I could play the Originals but my PS2 stuffed up.
Everything about T.L.o.S appealed to my nature more than the originals, because I don't find bright cartoony worlds as fun or interesting anymore (kind of sad). The gameplay...was fun, but I liked bashing the crud out of enemies more. The storyline was better (YotD had a pretty good story, but not as good as T.L.o.S) The look...well, I liked the older look, but this one is just...a little bit more dragonish (except for his enormous eyes and tiny wings) and it wouldn't fit in T.L.o.S.
And I bet someone's gonna come and argue with me about it...
