Oh, I thought you meant something else. Never mind.
I'll just go with your theory wink.

Re: Old-Skool vs Combat-Spyro

hmm What I really don't get is why people have to fight about which one's better and blah blah blah.

In my opinion, every Spyro is the "true spyro."

And ratchet, several people (including myself) have explained why the reboot was necessary, so I'm not going to go through that again.

Re: Old-Skool vs Combat-Spyro

[sub]But in his opinion, and also mine, it wasn't necessary.

When they started changing what Insomniac made, the quality of the Spyro games started going downhill. Before that, Spyro was perfectly fine and didn't need a reboot, as the Insomniac series was reasonably successful. What did cause the so-called need for a reboot, however, were games like Enter the Dragonfly, which failed so badly they probably permanently damaged the reputation of the series. However, there was no need to change the games as completely as Krome/Sierra have done, one, because it has upset many fans, and two, because the games were doing fine before they started adding "elemental breath types" and other nonsense like that.

I'll agree to the extent that their should have been a reboot, but not a complete reboot. [/sub]

Re: Old-Skool vs Combat-Spyro

sad I like elemental breath types.

And Etranges Libellules is doing a fantastic job on DotD so far. In fact, they're doing a much better job than Krome did.

Don't count your chickens before they hatch wink. I just had to say that.
I thought Krome did wonderfully on ANB and TEN. I'm probably the only one.

Re: Old-Skool vs Combat-Spyro

I thought they did wonderfully on ANB and TEN too, but so far it looks as if EL is doing an even better job.

Re: Old-Skool vs Combat-Spyro

I didn't get to play TEN sad, but I did play ANB. I loved it. Whether or not I'll like DotD more depends solely on what happens in the plot. I'm worried as far as that goes >.>.

Re: Old-Skool vs Combat-Spyro

You mean, whether you like the game or not depends solely on them giving Ignitus at least as much screen time as Cynder in terms of cutscenes wink.

Lol.

You know, if ANB never came out, some of our members wouldn't be here. After YotD I forgot about Spyro. Then came along ANB.

Re: Old-Skool vs Combat-Spyro

Well, if they can give the same amount of development for him and his bond with Spyro or more in less cutscene footage, I won't mind big_smile.

Re: Old-Skool vs Combat-Spyro

Your joking right? The New Spyro is so repetitive that it's impossible to play through a second time, and tedious to play through a first. The enemies get annoying quickly and there is no replay value at all. Old Skool Spyro takes this.

That's your opinion. There are several of us who enjoy the new series.

I don't find it "impossible to play through a second time" or "tedious to play through at first."

I'll agree that the monkeys are rather annoying, but no monkeys = no Gaul. D: Can't have that, now can we?

Your joking right?

I find that uncalled for.

Re: Old-Skool vs Combat-Spyro

To JasonLovesKelsey: As Taco Godess said, that is your opinion, and many love the new series. I actually like it a bit more than the old series, and I've already stated my reasons why.

Re: Old-Skool vs Combat-Spyro

I prefer the new combat TloS Spyro, although I agree that the gameplay can be repetitive at times.

Calling it "stupid" is rather uncalled for, Dark_Spyro_unleashed. Either say your opinion without flaming others or don't say it at all.
