I liked how it took all three of them to take on the Falcon, lol.

Falcon kicked Chrom out so hard he got knocked out of the roster.

Indeed. But hey least he's in The Robin's final smash.

Re: Super Smash Bros 3DS/Wii U

So a demo of Smash Bros 3DS came out to download in Japan earlier today. Hoping other regions can get it soon!

Some footage of the tutorial and sample battle:

Re: Super Smash Bros 3DS/Wii U

Yeah from what I've heard the music sounds great.

High quality theme:

Some gameplay (language warning in commentary):

I really like the look of the pacing. Looks like it plays much faster than Brawl. Also, the animations and graphical quality look top notch, especially considering the 3DS's power.

I watched a streamer playing the demo on a Japanese 3DS yesterday, and I noticed that the character select music sounds particularly awesome.

I can't wait to try out the demo. I'm getting Super Smash Bros for Wii U but the demo should be great for 3DS Version!

Hey guys, I just got an email from Nintendo with a few codes for the demo a week early. I have one left, so PM me if you're interested, and I'll send it your way. smile

Edit: code has been taken

Re: Super Smash Bros 3DS/Wii U

Well my verdict on the demo is...pretty freaking great so far. I haven't seen any downsides yet, though I wish I had an XL because the screen was a bit small when the camera was zoomed out.

Basically it plays like Melee mixed with Brawl. The characters aren't as floaty, combos are definitely a thing you can pull of if you're good enough, and the 3DS controls weren't bad; Even after immediately playing Melee last night, the only thing I struggled with getting used to was the jump button's placement. It looks great too. Visuals are definitely on par with Melee on the Gamecube. The game is very stylized, animation is great, and it plays smoothly.

Awesome this makes me look forward to trying it. And surprisingly I know the 3DS Version is great so looking forward to getting Wii U Version and what it brings should be great!

Re: Super Smash Bros 3DS/Wii U

Yeah, I've been debating whether or not I should get the 3DS version or not. I was originally just going to get it on the Wii U since local multiplayer is the best way to play Smash, but the 3DS version is looking better and better. If the online mode ends up being competent, I might have to give in and buy it. I just don't want to be better than all my friends from the get-go because I played on 3DS too, lol.

Pretty hyped up for the Wii U version though. I'll have to pick up a few Gamecube controllers and that adapter along with the game when it releases.

I got Paranoia's extra code but I can't play until tomorrow ;(
It kinda sucks Snake isn't back, he was fun to play. I'm fine with Lucas being gone, him and Ness were pretty much the same, and I didn't really like playing either of them anyway.

Yeah man hope you get both. Me personally will use GamePad. I'll get used to the controls and anything else after a while. can't wait to play it on the Pad and with Off-TV Play will use TV too. But even I agree the best controller is probably going to be Gamecube I don't think that experience can be beat. It's awesome the Wii U version will have a plethora of control options. Their great. But sitting around a TV with friends playing with Gamecube Controllers can't be beat.

Anyway hope you can get both and the adapter and have fun!

I agree Lambda Link looks great. I heard he's been enhanced and can combo moves so that's pretty cool. Keep enjoying it. Have fun with Mario, Pikachu, Mega Man and Villager too if you play as them.

Re: Super Smash Bros 3DS/Wii U

Btw, to those who have played it, can you taunt somehow? I loved using pikachu's taunt when I knocked someone out. I don't think they did, thoigh.

Re: Super Smash Bros 3DS/Wii U

It's the D-pad on the regular 3DS as well. Multiple taunts per character like Brawl depending on the direction you press. Pikachu still has the best taunt if you press down on the dpad. big_smile

Re: Super Smash Bros 3DS/Wii U

I figured the d-pad would do what the c-stick served to do. How do you do c moves, then?

Re: Super Smash Bros 3DS/Wii U

You just have to use the a button and snap the circle pad to the side. Same as other games, but I know a lot of people rely on the c-stick for smashes, so it might take some getting used to. Me, I tend to just use 'a' and the analog stick for smashes most of the time.

Also, oh my god, this remix is beautiful...

and this one

the music in this game is fantastic.
