Re: DDR Thread
LOL yeah I will definitely never be that kid. Wow.
I don't play with the keyboard at all, but that was actually pretty impressive. I hate when people get so mad about missing one arrow, though.

Re: DDR Thread
You'll soon surpass me in skill, I'm sure. You already have with doubles and not using the bar.
Seriously though when I save up some extra money, I need to get one of those Omega GX pads.
Regular Pluto's not hard in terms of stamina, but just annoying because of all the pauses and BPM changes. If you pass Valkyrie Dimension, I'll expect a video, lol. That song is insane.

Re: DDR Thread
Oh yeah, as soon as I figure out a good setup I'll be recording everything just in case I unexpectedly AAA something or pass some milestone.
I'm nowhere near AAing Max 300 though Maybe I just need to play it another 500 times or so to catch up to you.

Re: DDR Thread
I can't imagine trying to play DDR with weights on my legs. My feet already start feeling heavy after a couple boss songs as it is. It does sound like a pretty good idea to build up strength and get better though.
And Flapjacks: Barely anyone has access to DDR anymore, sadly. The machines are either broken or taken out of arcades.. It's basically a dead game here in the States, but that doesn't stop me from enjoying it.

Re: DDR Thread
Woah, dang. Hey, at least that's probably about the number of Greats I'd probably get with a pad if I could AA that song.
Is that X2? Looks like a really fun chart. That background video's pretty distracting, though.

Re: DDR Thread
I guess at least I know I can read the steps property...but that and performing them is a whole different story.
I'm pretty sure that's X2. The difficulty really ramped up with a lot of the 'new' songs. (And when I say 'new' I mean anything past 2009, because that's the last game I got to play seriously, lol) Possession, Valkyrie Dimension, Anti-Matter, Elemental Creation, Pluto the First, Paranoia Revolution are all crazy. Can't imagine even passing those for real without a ton of practice (not to mention physical training )

Re: DDR Thread
It wasn't DDR. But it was something that you could plug to a TV. Its sorta fun i guess, although i am more aware of Singstar. Since i had sisters when PS2 was the bomb always singstar. And just checking out some PS2 singstar. I remember back then how tired from hearing the song "the reason" by Hoobastank
But now with how much social media is taking over i would honestly not mind it being sung everyday

Re: DDR Thread
Nice! Speed modding really does help. When I'm bored, I play on Stepmania and usually have the speed for any song being around 350-400 since it helps with accuracy.
Do you have a bar for the pad yet, or were these scores without one?

Re: DDR Thread
Still don't have a bar, but I've been using two deck chairs stacked on top of each other with something heavy on the seat to weigh them down. Works well enough for now.
Editing to add FFFFFFFFF I got a C on Max 300 Super-Max-Me Mix but I accidentally pressed alt+esc instead of prt sc and my score is gone D:

Re: DDR Thread
Went to the arcade today and set a couple new records on the machine: Paranoia Survivor Max, Healing Vision Angelic, and I beat my old record on Paranoia Respect.
It was really weird because I was the only non-employee there since I went around 2 pm on a weekday, lol. One of the employees there gave my two free games.
And now that I know I can pass Elemental Creation on Expert, I can't wait to get a hold of a pad of my own so I can practice more Stepmania songs
And congrats on the pass of Max 300 SMMM; I'm sure you'll get a better score soon and then screencap it

Re: DDR Thread
Cool! Did you end up getting the control box from PDP?
Last weekend I went to the arcade near where we're moving. Before going there I had heard that they used to have DDR 2014 but downgraded to SuperNOVA 2, so kind of disappointing, but still better than the Extreme I have now, so I was excited to try it. When I got there it was sitting unplugged in a corner. I went to go ask an employee if I could plug it back in, and after plugging it in and seeing that the screen wasn't turning on, she had to go get a tech to fix it. I wonder how long it was there like that before someone cared to ask.
They did eventually get it up and running, and it was a pretty decent machine - pads in good shape; song selection from Extreme, SuperNOVA 1, and SuperNOVA 2; and free doubles. But there were a couple things that kept it from being perfect. Part of the right side of the screen was cut off, which made it kind of hard to see the right arrow, and there was a glare from the lights that made it hard to see the entire left side. I ended up playing for about two hours despite barely sleeping the previous night.
Found out later from the DDR/ITG Facebook group I'm on that everyone in that area hates that arcade now since they downgraded, so I guess I'm not likely to meet any other players there. Also, a pro player who I subscribed to on Youtube a while back apparently used to work there, and after he left there was no one left to care about the dance/rhythm game scene.

Re: DDR Thread
Yeah, I ordered the control box from precision dance pads. It looks like he must have decided to keep selling them , luckily. Do you think the shipping will actually be 6 weeks? D:
Dang, 2014 would have been awesome. Sucks that they took it down, but I guess there just isn't much of a market for DDR anymore...SuperNova 2 is better than a lot of other places though.
And I actually made the drive downtown and played this weekend in the arcade. But I only had $3 in my wallet, so I only got to play 4 rounds. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Re: DDR Thread
Nice! Hope I can see at least one of the arcades in the area this weekend!
I've been playing more frequently in the arcade and can usually FC Paranoia Survivor and Legend of Max on Heavy. I don't play too much on the new pad since I know how sound travels through my apartment complex, but at least I know it works
