if the dollar bill is losing its value and the economy is getting worse, we need to get rid of the dollar bill and the economy from our lives, not delve further into them.

independence from it is harder, but more worth it in the end.

So did anyone else have to buy those Valentine cards for everyone in their class when they were younger? I think I had to do that every year up to maybe sixth grade.

We did it for fun. We'd get a big package and give one to each of the
classmates. Then it became getting one for your friends. When that became
weird, you know how it goes.

Now I don't know who to get something for ... or if I should get something.

well-played.i always found it odd, giving valentines to my classmates, since a lot of people tend to promote two-person relationships, and only having one of those at a time, but yet i was giving light-hearted romantic invitations to 20+ people of any gender. and that was at a time when i had no interest in romance, especially with the people around me.

i remember a few people i didn't like very much, but i still wanted them to be mine on Valentine's Day, through use of mass-produced holographic cardboard and cartoon characters, and it was always kind of odd giving them to girls for whom i actually had no feelings.

only a year after it stopped (i think?), i would befriend a girl for whom i would later develop feelings and consequently never ever date. signing her yearbook in presumably permanent writing was bad enough, if i had to give her another Transformers or Spider Man card...

I kind of thought it was weird to do that too, but the cards weren't actually all that "romantic" at all, so it wasn't too creepy or anything. Seemed a little insincere, though, since I didn't even know a lot of the people I gave them to, and some of them even bullied me, but of course we weren't allowed to leave anyone out. I never even had "feelings" for anyone until I was much too old to be giving out cards, so there wasn't even like a thrill of giving one to my crush or anything like that. I think everyone liked getting the free candy, though, haha. tongue
