Re: Art / Drawing
That kinda reminds me of a scene in one of the Land Before Time movies (yeah, I used to be obsessed with those).
I don't know what else to say about it except that I wish I was that talented at anything.

My talent in art is not much either, but I still do find a deep appreciation for
art such as that. It quickly made it to being my desktop background for sure.

Re: Art / Drawing
I used to be quite talented in art, but unfortunately I just stopped enjoying the subject and the stress got to me, so I dropped it. Haven't done much art since, which is an enormous shame.

I'm a great artist... in a cartoony and abstract way. I'm horrible at realism.

That's a big problem with art- a lot of people think you have to be good at realism to be good at art. That's not the case at all. I was good at realism, but I couldn't draw animals or people particularly well and due to my limited range of artist ability (that is, it was all focused on realism) I lacked the imagination and ability needed to continue the subject.

I'd rather realism than this any day though:-

From what I can gather, you shouldn't even call her a friend. Real friends
look out for each other and share each other's pains and also happiness..."So encourage each other and build each other up, just as you are already doing."
1 Thessalonians 5:11If you want to remain a friend to her, talk to her and try to get things
sorted out. If she continues to treat you in the same way she did in the
past, that is when you should consider ending the friendship between you
two. This is only my advice, you can follow it if you want to.[hr:063ea499be]
And to get back on topic, some of you might find this drawing cute:
▼Hidden textI found it when randomly searching "spyro horse" on Google Images.
AHAAHAHA I DID THAT. WOW WHAT WAS I THINKING.
I like this thread. This is a nice thread. Might just share some of my non-dragon art... I have a ton of it.

Re: Art / Drawing
Ooh, yay. Okay, other art, lets see here... Most of these will be ponies but oh well.
There was my attempt at a more realistic Princess Celestia:
And then a young Celestia and Discord playing together because I have a headcanon that they were friends at one point:
I drew the Cutie Mark Crusaders as adults:
And then there's my Invader Zim art, but I can save that for a separate post, I don't want to put too much at once in one post.

Re: Art / Drawing
I like them, well done. I'm curious if Discord was even evil when he/it was
young. You know how young people/animals are, they barely know who they
themselves are. So theoretically it can be possible...

Re: Art / Drawing
I would argue Discord was never evil, even during the episode in which he was a villain. All he wanted was chaos, really. He never tried to harm anyone. Sure, he kinda chose Ponyville as his chaos capitol without asking anyone first, but eh. details, details

Re: Art / Drawing
Thanks, SpyroRocks.
I do my best.
And I agree, Discord isn't truly evil. Chaos is a normal part of nature. It exists alongside harmony. Harmony isn't inherently good. Chaos isn't inherently evil. Both those states just... exist.
Now maybe Discord could have been less of a jerk. But he was just doing what he does best. As far as villains go, he is a really tame one. He finds all of it quite fun, really.
Speaking of Discord, here he is flying with Fluttershy and eating ice cream. Sorta.

But does BadGuy necessarily always mean evil? I say not always. I agree completely with Spyro_for_life here, he's really just playing a huge and intricate prank essentially. Also, I love the drawing, Discord is one of my favorite characters

Re: Art / Drawing
Thanks, I really enjoy doing MLP art. The style is so easy to replicate, in my opinion. I have my own characters as well, and I'm trying to develop my own style for drawing them. Like here's my character Orlene in my style:
(her talent is martial arts but I couldn't think of an appropriate cutie mark so instead it's a hoof that appears to be moving forward quickly, representing a punch)
She's actually based off my dragon character Oryps. I need to draw the two of them together to show the comparison.

Re: Art / Drawing
I've seen a lot of people replicate the MLP style of art. Seems easy, because
it's basically flat colors inside thick lineart. If you are adding your own style to
it, the drawing becomes more personalized and unique. I do like how you add
hair to them ... sometimes the original style makes them look like stretchy
rubber (Pinkie I'm looking at you ya big bubble gum wad).

Re: Art / Drawing
^ Agreed. I'm still not very good at drawing, so I still try to use references or remember as best I can what they're supposed to look like. But I'd really like to have my own style. Even just a different way of drawing eyes or something like that.
SFL, your OC has really similar colors to Flash Sentry, the ~love interest~ in Equestria Girls. (I just drew him the other day, only reason I remember, I swear!
) Cool pony art!
And yes, Geko, you should post yours.
