Re: Nintendo Slashes 3DS Price to $169.99, Early Adopters Get Free Games
Let's not forget laptops are vulnerable to get stolen, and with a 3DS, you can just fit it in your pocket or in your pants if you wish. That's sure to keep a lot of thieves away.

Re: Nintendo Slashes 3DS Price to $169.99, Early Adopters Get Free Games
Neo, I find it hard to believe that a 16 year old has a 40-hour work week with a 4 hour commute round trip who find ample time to play games.
Does your job give you the spare time to play with the 3DS?
And you are in school, right? When school starts back up, are you still going to be working?

Paid internship at my father's old workplace. I live in NH and it is located in MA. Infact, I am at my desk now waiting for a motor test to be done.

I don't bring it to work if that's what you're asking. If I did, I am sure I would be able to use it for a couple minutes during lunch, but other than that I wouldn't really have any time.
And you are in school, right? When school starts back up, are you still going to be working?
I won't be working for the first 2-3 weeks of school, but I have a job available at a pizzeria in my town from then to New Years. After that I'll be job searching again.

Well I applaud you for working at a young age. I apologize for assuming you as a basement dweller who had their parents buy them everything. ![]()
But seriously though, you make more money than at least 28% percent of all Americans. Oh, did I just bring politics into the topic, oh snap!

How good is the 3DSs internet? Do you need to connect to a router to use it or is it like the Iphone where you can have internet anywhere? And how is the Internet browser? Can it play Youtube videos because the DSI sure can`t.

Re: Nintendo Slashes 3DS Price to $169.99, Early Adopters Get Free Games
[Posting this from my new 3DS]
Latias fan: The internet is certainly a lot better (faster) than the dsi from what i've seen from my sister's. Can't play youtube videos, but I wasn't expecting it to. It does need wireless to connect, but thats expected because you would have to have it linked to a phone company and pay a monthly fee for anywhere internet. I'm pretty sure that is what the ps vita is going to do with at&t.
Overall I'm pretty impressed by the system so far. Now I just have to wait for some more games to release...
Swaffy: I don't think it is. Stormy's the only mod here and I dont think she cares. It was a ridiculous rule to begin with, imo.

It technically is because the ban was never officially lifted. I'd tell you I don't care, but I'm honestly more inclined to say it's still banned just because I hate religious and political arguments more than anything else on the internet ever.

3DS is definitely not a dedicated internet device like a computer. Though despite not loading webpages as fast as an iPad or computer, I'm pretty much able to use it for everything I normally do (with exception of Youtube videos). However, I would always prefer to use something else. I only really use it for game guides or something similar.
Wait. It doesn't have a YouTube app? How does it have Netflix but not able to play YouTube videos?
No video, flash, or music support. I don't think Youtube would run very well on it anyways.
Question: will this site work on an Ipad?
No. Nothing works on the Ipad. The iPad, however, works flawlessly on this site.

Please! The Ipad is just an oversized Ipod! And I agree about the ipad. It's not very good (not as bad as the Ipad, but still bad).
But the iPad is totally awesome.

Isn't the iPad just an oversized iPod, too? ![]()
But seriously though... after seeing Paranoia's 3DS and trying the 3D again, I'm going to modify my opinion about it a bit. The 3D isn't as touchy as I remember. Probably because most of the times I've played the 3DS was in demos at stores where the thing is attached to the wall and barely moveable. It actually looks really good, but it does hurt my eyes if I leave it on for more than a few minutes, even on a very low setting. The graphics still look really good even without it, though.

The device is actually connected to a magnet in the demo kiosk areas (or at least it was in 2 Best Buys and a Wal-mart I was in). You can actually pull it off and move it around slightly. But it's still attached to a cable.

It's funny because the iPod Touch was originally going to be a smaller iPad. Apple was developing the iPad before they thought about the iPhone, but the battery technology wasn't available for a screen on something that sized.
Either way, I do like my iPad as well.

Not at the Walmart, Target, or Gamestop I've tried it in. You can barely move it up and down; it's stuck at little-kid height.

Then you should fork over $170 at Best Buy, play with it around, then return it the next day. ![]()

I just realized today that out of the 7 3DS games that I want, only 2 of them have a release date yet...Nintendo! y u no make good launch titles?!
To have something to do on the system while I wait, I downloaded Link's Awakening and Kirby's Dreamland today. =P
iPads never made sense to me...they cost a fortune and aren't nearly as good as just having a laptop computer. =/ (as far as I know. I'm just going off of what I've heard)

Don't think you can return it after it's open. Maybe you could get a store credit, but other than that I don't see that happening.

I think they could sell a LOT of consoles if they gave everyone who bought it a couple free virtual console games (sort of like the Ambassador program, but for everyone). Maybe give everyone the 10 NES games they promised early adopters.

It's not as good as a laptop for games or typing, but it very useful for everything else a computer traditionally does. It's a convenience sort of thing, and it is much easier to pull out an iPad and use the browser on that than it is with a laptop (it's also pretty good with drawing, but not a replacement for a dedicated tablet).
I would never trade my laptop for an iPad, but I would never doubt it's usefulness again. I never even gave any thought into what I would need it for until my uncle actually gave me it at Christmas. Now I find all sorts of uses for it.

I have drawn two conclusions:
1) Eye fatigue may differ from person to person as in all visual entertainment, like those 3D posters. Some people can easily see it, while others can't ever adjust their eyes the right way to see it. And some can see it, but it hurts their eyes too much to enjoy it.
2) Stormy is tall.
