Well, at least I did.

Apparently, according to some apocalyptic church, the world ended today at about 6 PM. Who knew?

So I have a question for you: How did you spend your last moments? :-P

Honestly I'm getting really sick of hearing about this rapture nonsense. I only first heard about it a couple days ago, but since then I've been seeing people talking about it everywhere and acting all high and mighty because they don't believe in it. Barely anyone actually does believe in this, so why is it such a huge thing?

That plus the fact that this thread can't possibly lead anywhere but a religion war made me consider closing this on sight. I'll give it a chance, but if this does turn into a religion based argument of any kind, the thread will be locked per the forum rules.

Now with that out of the way, I was actually at church when it was supposed to have happened, interestingly enough. The priest made a few jokes about it in the announcements afterwards.

Also, there should be two more two more options on your poll: "Other" and "Facepalming at people who won't stop talking about the rapture." tongue

You did see the part of the poll saying "Looking at ridiculous thread like these?", because I was making a reference to the exact same thing that you were talking about. Relax, it's just a joke. I don't think anyone would take it that way unless they actually believed it and was part of the small group that actually believed it. Just put some more faith into the people of the forum. People won't take it the wrong way unless they purposely try to troll (hmm? <_<). Just because I say something that has a reference to something that is even slightly religious, doesn't mean it has to be all about a religious argument.

Though I guess now that the subject has been brought up, this thread probably won't recover. Might as well put it in the spam forum so that Ontels and Clock-la can have another thread to say "Pie" back and forth at each other. roll

Yeah, I know it's just a joke. The tone of the first part of that post was supposed to be lighthearted annoyance; I guess I didn't portray that well. And really, nothing about religion at all is supposed to be on this forum because the slightest mention would turn it into a flame war, so I thought I was being lenient by not closing it, heh. >_>

But yeah, if you have faith that the thread won't turn into an argument, just let it prove it on its own. Nothing bad has happened to anyone; the thread is still open; I'm not yelling at anyone; so how about you relax too. tongue

Heh, I agree with Stormy. I didn't believe in the rapture, and I don't know anyone who did. I also found the jokes about "see? it didn't happen!" to be very old, very soon.

It depends on what time of day it was. My mother bribed to go to a "tap
dancing" show/concert/thing that a friend from church took part in. It took
me quite a while to get to the point to where all of the tapping sounds
stopped annoying me; it sounded like 50 people popping those button things
in the middle of those metal bottle caps. But that was at the end of my day.
I think I was just modding BF 1942 before then.

I modded a Halo sniper rifle into it, gave it armor piercing explosive rounds.

To be fair, the risk vs. reward of predicting the end of the world is actually pretty good. You could be worshipped as a prophet if you get it right, and if you get it wrong, you should fail into obscurity. None of us will remember Camping by the end of June, will we?
