"Judging the Book by Its Cover"

Apparently, a whole lot of fans have quickly judged the upcoming game and deemed it as an upcoming failure, when they only saw screenshots and demos of the game that is still working in progress.

They also haven't even played the game themselves to completely judge it. Some fans have reasons for not liking the upcoming game. One of those reasons doesn't make sense, like 'because of Spyro's design being ugly in my eyes, this game will suck for sure!'. Character designs doesn't make a good game, yet fans seem to only rely on Spyro's character design to decide their decision, and not play the game in general to decide for themselves.

Heck, I'm willing to try this game and decide if I like it or not, instead of "judging the book by its cover" like the majority of the fanbase are doing.

Re: "Judging the Book by Its Cover"

Lol, me as a hardcore TLoS fan, who had always been open to the change of everything, still see this game as pretty iffy. I mean Like i said, I think one of the things that will bother me is the lack of plot.

Re: "Judging the Book by Its Cover"

TLOS was not really what Spyro is all about, it was an odd experimant for the series and I am glad they are going back to true Spyro. If you want deep stories there are plenty of other games out there.

Re: "Judging the Book by Its Cover"

Well, most of the fans wanted a Classic Spyro game so badly, they got their wish. But they're now hating it because the game isn't like the Original Spyro. It's been confirmed that after Skylanders, if the game got enough good sales, Activision will make Spyro his own series again.

Re: "Judging the Book by Its Cover"

Unfortunately, the hatred for Skylanders is what making some fans troll and flame other innocent fans who like the upcoming game. They harass other fans that like the upcoming game, and let their hate cloud their judgement..

Re: "Judging the Book by Its Cover"

Re: "Judging the Book by Its Cover"

No I don't expect them to do that. But they seriously need to get their act together and control their anger, fustration, and hate on Skylanders, and not let it out on other fans who like the game.

Re: "Judging the Book by Its Cover"

All that glitters isn't gold.  :-|

I said that on DS I'll say it here. People can have a million and one reasons to hate or a like this game. To be honest, I find it perfectly reasonable for people to be turned off by this game just because of the price, and the cost for additional characters just so they can fully enjoy the game.

Having to spend $70 just to get the starter pack, then buy $290 more just to get all the characters. . . yeah, its not really surprising that people are raging at this point.

For now, the game still looks uninteresting to me. . . I'm willing to be patient and wait for some more gameplay videos and actually try the game out myself, but I don't have high hopes for it. <_<

Re: "Judging the Book by Its Cover"

if people bother to pay the over the top price.

anyway, it was'nt because DOTD was bad ((and IMO it was REALY bad)) but more of the sence that, spyro could R.I.P. now rather then become spyro the hedgehog.

Re: "Judging the Book by Its Cover"

Uhh, I think you guys are missing the point here. Me, and possible others, aren't saying that there are games out there just to be there to get some sort of revenue going, what I'm saying is that I hate for Spyro to turn into something like that. Whether or not Skylander's is that game or not, will soon be decided once some of us have played Skylander's.

For me, I'm hoping its not, but from what I've seen. . . I'm not impressed. :-\

Re: "Judging the Book by Its Cover"

If Spyro was turned into the worst thing ever, say a porn star...

I would not alienate Spyro because of the ties from the other 13 games.  I would simply not involve myself anymore in the future games until I see the quality surface again.  This situation is not bad enough for me to disconnect myself from new Spyro.  And if I did disconnect, I could come back, just like when I left the games after EtD.  What Spyro is doing now does not change what he did when Insomniac ruled the platformer world.
