Re: Spyroforum`s First Impressions of Skylanders

@Spyro_Fan_Forever You know Russian? Looks like you do from your sig! I have to say this to you:

Эта игра будит очень хорошая! Я знаю это!

Uh, looks like I'll have to replace my keyboard very soon. sad
The letters are starting to fade away...

@Spyro_Fan_Forever If you like the original Spyro so much, check out Ratchet and Clank, Rayman 2, Jak and Daxter, Sly Cooper, Mario, Donkey Kong, and oh, if you have a PS3 and/or PSP, there is Tombi!/Tomba!
Should occupy your time for at least a year. Then, come back and my own platformer game (running on the UE3) should be made in time for Christmas (I hope). Ain#t life grand?

Ah. I have Sly Cooper, Mario, Donkey Kong, and a Ps3. The other games you mentioned, I may look in to.
Thanks.

You're making a game? Cool. smile
If you wanna talk more about it, send me a PM. Wouldn't wanna ruin the board for anyone.

As for everyone else, you all have fun waiting on the new game. smile
I'll be revisiting the old, classic Spyro for quite sometime.

Re: Spyroforum`s First Impressions of Skylanders

@Spyro_Fan_Forever Trust me, Tombi/Tomba is worth it. It only recently came out on PSN in America and it is a true classic. Ratchet & Clank is worth getting because the same creators of Spyro have made it (Insomniac). Jak & Daxter is especially good, especially the first game. Rayman 2 is one of the best games ever, in my opinion. If you have a PS2, get Rayman 2 Revolution. Trust me, they are all worth every penny.

And my game is still in the planning stage - but I'm planning to incorporate similar objectives of the original Spyro, the power-ups from LOS and some of the ideas from The Elder Scrolls as well.

Re: Spyroforum`s First Impressions of Skylanders

This is just inside the consideration of it being "on topic," but Ty the Tasmanian Tiger was a game that made me realize how hard it is to find a good platformer these days.  And in case you didn't get my context, it sucked!!  ...imo...

Re: Spyroforum`s First Impressions of Skylanders

pretty much everything.  I think the thing that bothered me the most was the graphics engine.  "Glitchy" wasn't really the word to describe it, but it was just one of those games where for whatever reason, the gameplay was never matched with the environments and the general control of the camera and characters.  In short, it left a bad taste in my mouth.

Re: Spyroforum`s First Impressions of Skylanders

yes.  It didn't glitch, I just never got the feel for the game.  and the koala character made me want to puke everytime a cutscene came.

You pretty much have the same set of problems with the game as the rest of the SSA haters here.

Re: Spyroforum`s First Impressions of Skylanders

I got better expectations now that I know there will be some more dragon characters in Skylanders thanks to iSO's All you need to know about this game topic. The orange feathered dragon looks pretty cool, and most likely will be my second (if not first) character I play as besides Spyro.

Re: Spyroforum`s First Impressions of Skylanders

I got Divinity for the sole purpose of being a super-powered human that can transform into a dragon and crush stuff.

That and i love games that play as something not human

Re: Spyroforum`s First Impressions of Skylanders

This just looks weird, expensive (for something so cheap) and NOT Spyro. Fail.

I'm new here btw smile just thought i'd add that
