^...does it really matter what genre is what? I've never cared that much for labeling my music in genres, since I listen to pretty much everything. I don't know how people just stick themselves to a couple genres and call themselves music fans.

Well, music is a acquired taste so I can easily say that I've listened to enough pop music to really determine that out of all the pop music out there I can only really like is Michael Jackson. Heck, I've even listened to enough rap music that I can easily say rap sucks because all it ever talks about is how "COOOOOL" it is to be a gangbanger, deal drugs, and doing *beep* and *beep*! You can kind of guess what I'm getting at by "*beep* and *beep*". Part of the reason why I'm particularly stuck on rock & roll and heavy metal is because the songs that are made by the rock legends ranging from AC/DC all the way to ZZ Top can express numerous amounts of meaningful lessons and expressions of deep emotion. And when I say emotion I'm not talking about EMOtion I'm talking about a deep sense of emotions such as love, hate, greed, fear, anger, and even in some cases, sadness and happiness...not that I'm saying other genres can't communicate the same messages, it's just that many pop and rap artists have become washed up to making all of this love-dovey *beep* or crap that basically tells kids it's cool to have your pants hanging 5 miles below your a**cheeks and be a hustler...and that just gets BORING after having to put up with it for over 10 years.

^try listening to mod sun for rap, it's more of an old school type but he's fairly new and he even says that all the modern day rap is ridiculous in one of his songs

I don't see how people can get all obsessed with him either..there's nothing really that "special" about him or anything..

Yeah, I checked him out! He sounds cool and his lyrics are certainly a breath of fresh air in the rap culture! Too bad he isn't mainstream enough to knock crappy (c)rappers like Soulja Boy out of Hollywood! LOL! Then again, rap tends to always be better when it's underground...:D

The Jonas Brothers I can kind of understand since they at least look their age, but I don't understand how anyone over the age of 12 can find Justin Bieber attractive at all.... He looks like he's about 10 years old to me. =/

I don't see what gets everybody obbessed with him. It annoys me so much. I had actually listened to his songs and I'd have to say, ick. And he doesn't even look cute. Sadly, my younger cousin who's 12 is obbessed with him. She has posters of him on her wall. Talk about annoying. And besides, give it a couple of years and his popularity will die down...hopefully.

I don't see why people generalize things like this as "everyone". Obviously if you look at the past pages, almost no one likes him.

But that is just us on the forum. When we arent on the forum and out at school, work, college, whatever, a majority of the people around us really like him in an obsessive way. Your'e comparing us 15 people (I didnt count) to the other 1 billion people who know who he is.
