Re: A Different Direction
A different direction implies that they are taking something already made and changing it to something else. Now this can be broken down to doing something New with an already made Spyro game (Similar to Modding) or they can combine two things (Old and Tlos) and into one thing.
still I can't see how nothing "new" will come out of this though. No matter what they do its going to be new and some ways. As for what they'll do with Spyro. . . I don't know, whatever it is I hope they make it a platformer again, instead of a button smasher.
Oh. . . tea FTW! :*bleep*in: Two lumps of sugar please.

Re: A Different Direction
Or, you can just have it a rated E +10 game with some adult jokes hidden in it. I'm thinking similar to how Animaniacs was widely loved by children and adults, because of it's wacky comedy that amuses the kids, and also because of the witty subtle jokes that makes adults chuckle.
I'm sure you've all used to watch a cartoon as a kid that you later came back to when you were older, and be surprised at how you never got a joke that was made or thought that one line a character said had no double meaning behind it.
Comedy like that needs to come back to television and video games. Seriously.

Agreed, if you watch some of your old Disney Movies, you start seeing them in a different light as you did as a kid. Take the Great Mouse Detective for example. When I was a kid I never understood why that mouse lady was all sweet and lovely and then got all. . . hmm, energetic. But now that I'm older, yeah. . . . . . . wow o_O . Its the same with Hercules, and Aladdin. Man Disney was quite clever hiding those double meanings from younger viewers.

Then you look at Disney now and I have to hold back the urge to become Dexter Morgan.

Re: A Different Direction
Hmmm, I never heard that the movie was cancelled.
I do not really care though seeing as it was based off The Legend of Spyro, which I do not really like much.
Well, I guess I can just hope for something to do with the original series now!

A new direction
Sorry to be a part pooper...
Actually, it's a 'different' direction. Different could mean returning to the original, although unlikely.

Re: A Different Direction
I can't wait until the news comes out on this new game so we can all stop arguing to each other about it being TLoS sequel or returning to originial.

Re: A Different Direction
a different direction to me implies in the context that they chose not to make it a movie. That's it.
I think we're reading too much into the statement, no one knows what the next game will be like. Maybe not even them...

Re: A Different Direction
Ehh, doesn't matter... It's one of those movies you would get off limewire, watch it once, then never see it again.
Meh ... I prefer The Pirate Bay and uTorrent. Much more accurate for non-
music related downloads.

Re: A Different Direction
Generally when they say a "different" direction it usually means they're gonna do something new. So you can say new or different it doesn't matter because we all don't know what's gonna happen in any case.

Yet another reason they did the right thing in canceling the movie.
And as for the use of uTorrent, I agree.

Re: A Different Direction
They just revealed a new Crash game for the iPhone and iPod without even telling us beforehand, and it's already released to the public.
I must confess, although it is a disappointment to be an iPhone application..... Activision have certainly impressed me.
I won't deny, a majority of the Crash revamps really bugged me to the extent I never purchased MoM. I don't regret not purchasing it, either. The only character designs I still liked were Cortex, N.Gin, Coco, possibly Crunch and maybe Nina (although she looked so much more awesome in her previous design). When they altered gameplay.... I couldn't bear it anymore.
TLOS, I feel the same way now. I don't regret buying the series for the sake of completion, and I'm glad I completed them all. But to purchase another game filled with Legend's plot-hole filled story and bland characters? I think not.
Regardless of Activision's decision with Spyro, they have my attention where Crash is concerned, and I hope they stick to the route they've taken with him. Here's hoping they can impress me with Spyro too.

I know right? It's called Crash Bandicoot Nitro Kart 2. I hope Spyro doesn't turn up as an exclusive iPhone game.
