I love how so many people think killing animals is fun, but if killing animals was truly allowed,  then the illegal hunters should be afraid, since the police can use that as an excuse to kill them. Plus who knows how much of then human population would go down, since we all just love killing. Seriously, we kill each other just because of hate or racism, which puts plenty of humans (not all, I didn't say all) at the top of the cruelty list. Animals kill animals, yeah that's true, but they do it for food, there's quite a few people who do it for enjoyment. Its different if its for some animal at a zoo, but there's still that side of the human population. If there's one things humans should fear, its these kinds of people, since its getting worse and worse.

Now as for this guy, he's obviously a moron. From whats going on with wolves, humans are horrible at these things. "Well, a wolf ate my lamb", what type of excuse is that? If you were gonna kill the lamb and eat it, then that's just some lame *bleep* excuse. If that's somewhere inhabitable or where you know bad things will happen, then I blame it ALL, yes ALL, on you. Freaggin move if you don't want that to happen. Other than that, I have no sympathy for you. Fate was going to come and bite you sooner or later.

Think you gotta read the thread a bit more - we've already addressed this kind of reasoning. Specifically, read on the discussion of property maintenance a page or two back.

Maybe that is because humans need the circle of life to survive. i.e: food chain.

Re: This is disgusting.... really really sad....

humans have been hunting ever since cavemen times (early homosapiens) its how we first figured out how to survive and get food and wolfs are dangerous if i was near one and had a weapon id kill it (if it came after me) but we can't change the world that easily i know this is kinda of an old post but i figured id post tongue. The only animal that kinda needs killed is deer cause of the car wrecks, going through our trash (for people who live near woods).
By the way that pikachu pic freaks me out sad.

Humans are by far the worst of the species on this planet. Animals kill out of necessity or fear. When they do something it's only purpose is to preserve their species and ensure its survival. Humans kill for fun, we *bleep*, we steal, we judge...
What right do we have to say what's good for this planet and what's not?
If you want to say wolves are doing damage to property or the food supply or whatever reason you're killing them for then fine... Why don't we have an open season on hunters since they're doing damage to the wolf population?
This world has been around billions of years and it's been surving just fine without human interferance.
I can understand hunting for nourishment purposes, but anyone who hunts for the thrill of it needs psyche evaluation. Those who hurt an animal for the thrill of it are more capable of actually to doing harm to a fellow human. That is a fact.
I understand that everyone has a right to their own beliefs and I apologise for how harsh a statement that is. This is just one of those things that I really don't have any tolerance for.
I'm going to have to agree with Cynder and Black Dragon on this one.

Re: This is disgusting.... really really sad....

Its easy for sub-urban type people to judge others on hunting when they live in a big city and have no clue about it other than what they discuss at starbucks with their friends about how bad it is. Now, of course that doesn't apply to everyone who lives in the city, but you get my point, you'd have a different view if you lived on a farm which works to feed you people.

Waa waa waa, humans are so evil, waa waa waa I can make generalized statements about the human race, waa waa waa, I prop myself up onto a pedestal above you all because I don't ever kill anything and I think I'm better than you for it.

You should put yourself in a concrete box for the rest of your life, and never surface for air or food because if you did, it's quite possible you'd be killing something or promoting the killing of something. Don't even drink water, because you'd be killing the little bacterias that live in there and that's just wrong.

Right, because murdering a human being is really the same as defending your property from a wild animal. roll

This world has been around billions of years and it's been surving just fine without human interferance.

If you're implying the world would be better off without humans... please get out now. >.>

Yeah, nature might be better off, but what makes it more important than beings who can actually think logically, have morals, and help others?

I can understand hunting for nourishment purposes, but anyone who hunts for the thrill of it needs psyche evaluation.

This sort of contradicts what you said earlier. So you think it's OK to hunt for food, but it's not OK to kill animals to defend your food?

Those who hurt an animal for the thrill of it are more capable of actually to doing harm to a fellow human. That is a fact.

Evidence for this "fact" please? I know a lot of people who hunt, and while I don't personally agree with it, I'm sure they'd never shoot a human being.

I understand that everyone has a right to their own beliefs and I apologise for how harsh a statement that is. This is just one of those things that I really don't have any tolerance for.
I'm going to have to agree with Cynder and Black Dragon on this one.

So are rabbit ones tongue if I or any of my friends/family go hunting, it's purely for pest control, and we eat everything we kill. Sometimes we even got the chance to use the pelts for stuff. But, when we can, we just relocate the animals.

Yeah, wolf hunting is wrong, but didn't we do that even in the cave men days?

Define "misuse." How do you "misuse" the food chain?

And yeah, the reason people keep saying wolf-hunting is wrong is simply because they like wolves, it seems. If it was some other animal they considered "ugly" I'm sure there wouldn't be as much debating going on here.

It just depends on the circumstances. Protecting your crops and livestock, I find that understandable. Hunting for sport is something I have never really agreed with myself.

(what I meant by wolf hunting in my previous post was hunting them for sport, yeah I think I mis-worded it a lil bit)

Re: This is disgusting.... really really sad....

Why won't this topic die? I tell you what, wolves have achieved absolutely nothing when compared to us humans. There's no one whining on internet forums about bloody donkey abuse, although I expect that's much more repulsive to the empathetic person.

Frankly, we British exterminated our wolves over a millenia ago, and we're living it up.

Re: This is disgusting.... really really sad....

Well, I don't agree with "exterminating" wolves completely. If we have areas set aside for them where they can't interfere with our safety, I think that's great.

I just think human lives are far more valuable than animal lives, and some people really need to take a deep breath and put things into perspective. I can't believe how many people are honestly saying they hate the species they belong to when it's the only one that's capable of logic, emotion, and morality.

Yeah, nature might be better off, but what makes it more important than beings who can actually think logically, have morals, and help others?

#1. You’re implying that I said somewhere in my argument that I wasn’t a part of the human race, which I did not.  #2. Refer to my intellect argument. #3. What makes humans better than animals, our capacity for knowledge? I think I already debunked that theory. Its only our own arrogance that that tells us we’re better. Really if you want to think about what’s the better species, humans reaction to an animal that annoys them is more often than not to kill it. If animals had our mentality we’d have been wiped off the planet ages ago.

stormy wrote:

Why can’t you just relocate them? What’s the point of killing more animals than necessary?

They do other things. They abuse their wives/ husbands, the abuse their children, they’re more argumentative… the list goes on. Try checking a book out a psychology book in the library and look for the correlation between animal abuse and human related abuse. One instance was in the news a while ago about a serial killer named Jeffrey Dahmer who’s uncle would torture animals in front of him while watching him. We all know what our buddy ol’ Jeff turned out to be.

stormy wrote:

You don’t think that humans have a holier-than-thou attitude for thinking they can just kill an animal whenever they want to and that’s okay?

The argument isn’t that we don’t need animals for food. Animals kill for food, we need animals for food. The argument is that people seem to think that animals are inferior to humans. Why? Is it really because they can’t learn as much as we can? Again I already voiced my thoughts on that one.

spyrorocks wrote:

You can be as condescending as you want, that doesn’t negate the fact that humans are more arrogant, cruel, and narrow minded than animals. And last I checked I was a human as well and in case you didn’t notice I said nothing about being better than anyone in my previous post.

spyrorocks wrote:

And for the last time it's not an argument of necessity it's an argument of worth.

Re: This is disgusting.... really really sad....

What gives wolves as much worth as us? Is it because they are pretty? It's because they're pretty isn't it. In the same way that we are more responsible for our family's wellbeing than a stranger's family, we are more responsible for our species wellbeing. You make the mistake of seeing worth as an objective property, not a subjective one.

Not just wolves, All animals. Pay attention. Wolves just started the argument. And you still haven't said what makes humans more important in the first place.
And how is it looking out for our well-being to kill an animal because they did damage to our property or took some of our food?
You can't accuse me of seeing the situation wrongly if you're doing exactly the same thing but on the opposite end of the confrontation.
I say animals are just as important you say humans are more important.
What's the difference?
