This is disgusting.... really really sad....
http://wolfhuntupdate.blogspot.com/ <--- One of the most foul things i've ever read.
Save an elk heard, kill a wolf... humans are just a foul race and i'm sad to be the same thing as these monsters... we should be saving wolves, not killing them off.
Please don't flame me.
Oh God i'm crying...

Re: This is disgusting.... really really sad....
I almost barfed when I read sorry if I spelled that wrong this. If I was in better shape and about 20 or something year's old.
I would take their guns and shove it right up there *bleep*s. Wolf's are my favorite animal.
And yes I am a big donkeyass in real life but I'll be dammed if I let someone do that to an animal I love so much.
Excuse my language Spyrorocks but this sickens me. Sometimes I can't belive I am a human half the time when things like this happen.

Re: This is disgusting.... really really sad....
Was going to comment more on the article itself, but I think there's a bigger problem here.
So this person likes to hunt and thinks there should be fewer wolves. I disagree with him, but why hate all of humanity because of it? Guess what? All of you are human. Everyone in this thread who has posted before me -- you're a human, and you don't think like that guy. We are not an evil race of killers; we are the only fully self-aware, intelligent animals on the planet. Some humans may do cruel things, but we're also the only creatures on this planet who can truly do good. And many people do. It's ridiculous to say you hate our species just because of incidents like this, when there are clear examples right in front of you of humans who care about the wolves just as much as you do.
Honestly, I am more disgusted when people claim to "hate humanity" than this article. Sorry about the rant; I'm just sick of hearing that everywhere.

We are not an evil race of killers.
Maybe not evil, but we are a race of killers. People are starting to eat way too much meat in Europe and America (Latin America included).
we are the only fully self-aware, intelligent animals on the planet.
Looking at how some people act on the internet and in real life? I disagree :-P

Relax! We are just acting rhetorical on the subject. I don't think anyone in the world hates every single person on the planet. Don't take the comments so literally...

You said in your first post that "humans are a foul race." I'm not flaming, just strongly disagreeing with what you said.

I ment those ones in general!!
Anyway Stormy, neotyguy ment people killing things for their skin, and not to mention some kill for the fun of it (JUST some)
I shall not argue further, so I don't get banned, or to start a what-will-soon-be a flame war.

Re: This is disgusting.... really really sad....
You are certainly right to have a great dislike for those who kill with little purpose other than entertainment, but you and several others tend to blow up the situation out of proportion when we're dealing with a small minority who hunt without keeping sustainability in mind. And yes, I know what you mean as well, but if you don't state what you want to say in the right way, you send a different message.
Anyways, I read the Saturday article and have to say that you have to be fairly narrow-minded to not consider what impact an oversuccess of the wolf program would have on other wildlife. Did everyone here read the whole article (or prior entries) or did you just post based on what's been already said in this thread?* I think a lot of you can't understand the original author's point of view based on the lifestyle you have - if you live in a town or city, it's more difficult to envision the problem that an overpopulation of wolves would have on rural communities and private land that people own in very remote areas.
The entries describe the enormous success of the wolf program and how Montana's wildlife "experts" assure hunters that the numbers aren't taking a significant toll on their game season. Although the author only addresses hunting, there's no doubt that overpopulation of wolves have a detrimental effect on other mechanisms or other areas of the food chain. What I'm saying is that people other than hunters would eventually feel the negative effects of an imbalance in wolf population - so this goes beyond a more trivial matter such as hunting for sport. Animal population change often affects things such as agriculture - everything's interrelated in a way.
Now I'm making the assumption that a) the author's point of view is more factual than just an emotion-fueled rant and b) his statistics are not grossly misconstrued. Assuming that 1k-1.3k number of wolves is devastating, then I can understand where the hunter is coming from. I live in a place in which agriculture dominates the economy on the provincial scale (well it's just north of Montana anyways). It's not the first time I've heard this kind of opinion.
*shame on you if it's the latter - that's posting on emotions and not rationality

just because I say I hate people, dosen't mean I hate ALL people. its annoying that others assume that's what you mean when you obviously don't. its just that MOST people are disgusting, and thoes disgusting people give a bad name to thoes who are good. I'm fine with animals being killed for food... but killing for sport or killing for fur and skins is wrong. or at least thats how I see it.

READ my post please. You clearly did not read it at all, or never bothered to interpret it. I described the issue much more than a flimsy skin-deep thought. I never even addressed the human race in general.

Re: This is disgusting.... really really sad....
Yes I find it acceptable. To find this "disgusting" is a bit of an overreaction perhaps. What about all those chickens and cows that we kill, how is that any different to killing wolves? Besides aren't wolves supposed to be dangerous? By culling them it affectively halts a wolf problem allowing others to enjoy walks without being eaten

Re: This is disgusting.... really really sad....
Well, that paticular group seems a little extinctionist, but I see their point. Bmah is right, wolves are an issue a lot of the time. These hunters of yours are helping to regulate a trend that could result in extinction of several species, including the wolves themselves, anyone with a decent biological education can understand that. If the wolves overpopulate, then their food sources, the elk, deer, and everything else, will die out. If they die out, the wolves will starve. Most of the time, this fluctuation manages itself, but not always. By killing a few wolves you are saving the deer, and the wolves.
On a side note, what's so great about wolves? Just great ugly dogs without the manners. I don't understand the pre-teenage obsession with wolves. Especially when it clouds your judgement so.
It is often said that before you die your life passes before your eyes. It is in fact true. It's called living.

Well then, sorry for misinterpreting, but that's definitely what it sounded like. You referred to the entire race. And it wasn't just you anyway; the two posters after you said the same kind of thing.
And actually, Neotyguy didn't say anything about killing animals for their skin: (emphasis added)
People are starting to eat way too much meat in Europe and America (Latin America included).

If they're hunting and they keep the skins and eat it, I think it's fine.
If I had no other choice, I'd go out and hunt some animals. I value my life enough to do so.
But until that day comes I'll continue eating codfish and burgers ![]()

Yay for burgers!!
Anyway wolves rarely attack people and where these specific people are there is only 1, 600 of 'em left!
So in that part it's not that good for those wolves!

Re: This is disgusting.... really really sad....
It's not just wolves attacking people that's the problem. If there are too many wolves, they'll kill off all of their prey in the area, which will not only result in a loss of animals like deer, but also an eventual loss of the wolves themselves once they run out of prey to eat. Also, if wolves become overpopulated, they'll have to move from their habitats into areas where humans live as they run out of space, meaning they'll have no choice but to attack people when they feel threatened.

I don't like hunting, and I don't hunt any animal, but reading this and seeing that people hunt wolves is horrible and putrid. Wolves are beautiful and amazing animals who deserve to live in peace and be free from human harm. I am against animal hunting and this is just WRONG!

Re: This is disgusting.... really really sad....
Did you read any of the other posts like bmah's, Aceedwin's, or mine? It's necessary to keep their populations under control so they don't kill all their prey and eventually hunt themselves to extinction. The extent that this guy takes it is pretty extreme, but wolves are hunted for good reason.
Besides, why is it so much worse of a crime to kill wolves versus any other animal? Because they're "cool" or "beautiful" animals?

Here's my argument: Are elk endangered? No. Are wolves? Yes. Isn't killing endangered animals a crime? So... those people should be locked up if justice still exists. And as someone else said, we should be helping wolves to survive, not killing them mercilessly.

Re: This is disgusting.... really really sad....
And hunting them (at least controlled hunting) actually is helping them survive because they don't hunt their prey to the point where they have nothing left to eat.
Also, what about people who live in rural areas with lots of farms? The wolf population needs to be kept under control or farm animals and even people could get attacked when the wolves get desperate for food.
If they were hunting on a reservation, I'd agree with you. As it is, though, this is necessary. I don't, however, agree with whoever wrote that article; he seems to want as few wolves as possible so there can be more hunting. There just needs to be balance.
