Well you already asked, so I guess you may.
Anyway, it's just a *bleep*y job... in fact all fast food jobs are *bleep*y, but McDonalds especially. I have a friend who got hired there but barely got the hours she was promised because they can't seem to quit over hiring. Now, if you really feel it's the best way to go and you can get good hours, go right ahead, but even Wendy's would be a better job, trust me. Now, a word of advice, if you do take the job, and it really sucks and you have an opportunity to get another one, give them two weeks notice and make sure you've had the job for at least three months; you don't want the reputation of being a job hopper.

I dunno, it's probably just bias speaking.

Even if you just work at McDonald's for a while and move on to something else, it's good to have at least some job experience to help you move up. You can even apply for other jobs while you work there just to have something on your resume/applications. In interviews you could just say you're currently working there but you're looking for more hours, or something like that.

and Stormy another thing I posted earlier.

Not thread related but I'm asking this to the Tales of fans here(Stormy) Is Tales of the Abyss any good? I'm just considering it since that and Devil Survivor are pretty much the only RPGs out on the 3DS currently.

Yes, it is. Several annoying quirks but none that ruin it. It is very fun and has a good story.

Latias fan: Yeah, what Lambda said. It suffers from some lazy programming here and there, but overall it's a good game.

I can't really speak for the 3DS version since I've only played the PS2 one, but from what I've heard they're exactly the same. My brother has it and likes it, but he says the 3D is kind of crappy so he keeps it turned off.

I never use the 3D. Just such a gimmick to me and I normally hate 3D anyway.

100% true.

You do not only receive money from working somewhere, you receive experience and knowledge to apply in the future to other jobs, or to a higher position in the same job should you choose to stay with the same company.

If you treat a job like "a crappy job", that's what you will get out of it.

Tales of the Abyss 3DS is worth getting. I don't really know how it stacks up against other RPG's because I've only played Paper Mario, Pokemon, and Tales of Symphonia, but I thought it was pretty good. There are some minor flaws like Lambda said, but I enjoyed it. Recently got Kid Icarus too. It's really challenging, but I love it.

I've been working in food service at Culver's for 2 years now. It's kind of like a higher end McDonald's basically. It's not the greatest pay, but as long as you can deal with a few crabby customers each shift, it's not so bad. It's all about attitude really. There are times where I have really *bleep*y days and hate it, and times where it goes great. I just appreciate that I have a job and am building up my savings, honestly. Hopefully next summer I'll be able to branch out, and I have a good idea of 2 maintenance type jobs with higher pay.

Crabby customers are the worst. I had this one lady last week who came in twice complaining about not being able to print from her Macbook whatever. "What, <name of person she talked to on the phone> isn't here?! Why do you IT people always go to lunch during lunch when people need you?!?!" Right, IT people can't eat lunch, and we only exist to serve you. =/

Also, you wouldn't believe how many people have no idea how to use a computer.

Yeah. It's especially hard to keep your cool when they're being complete *bleep*s to you. (wow, this forum has pointed out to me how much more I swear now, haha) I've gotten to the point where if they start using they're snappy little tone with me, I will continue to take their order, just be really quiet, and help them as little as possible.

Well it's good people don't know how to use computers cause you would be out of a job if everyone could. tongue

I transfer them to customer service. Then again, the angry customers shouldn't be dialing my extension anyway, but it happens.

People get all defensive, because they like to seem like big shots, so they pull out their cash and buy right there. Heh.

This is true, but when you're on the phone for half an hour with a customer who actually thinks the Bing bar in IE is the address bar and can't even describe what she's doing... let's just say it gets pretty frustrating.

I thought I'd be doing cool stuff like cleaning viruses, but no. "Your password has been reset to the first seven digits of your social security number" and waiting for clueless people to call all day. D:

@SR: Nice. That's a pretty good idea actually, as long as you can get away with it.

I've noticed that old people can be the best and worst customers. Some of them are super nice and understanding, then others are super grumpy and just plain evil. XD

We have this customer who calls at least three times a day asking for discounts and almost never buying anything. We'd just ignore him, but he is very entertaining to talk to. I've never spoken to him, but I hear all the stories.

I find the trick with old people is to talk to them about totally unrelated subjects, then be all like "Oh, your taking that, right?", and continue to BS about whatever they are talking about.

Wait, people actually don't know their own Social Security number? hmm You need it for pretty much everything.
