Re: General Discussion 5

Yeah, that game would have been so much better upscaled and put on Wii U. And considering how poor that console is selling, it could have been a good business move to. :/ Oh well, I guess I just won't ever play Xenoblade Chronicles.

Re: General Discussion 5

To be brutally honest it's a commercial failure. Like you said. I live the Wii U and GamePad. Also it's lineup of games Super Mario, Super Smash Bros, and Mario Kart, being prime examples. The Wii  U did decent but it's lifespan maybe short. But we'll probably look fondly on it later I will it's my second favourite console and with my second favourite controller. But hey it's still chugging along. If Nintendo keeps up it's consistency with the releases. And the overall enjoyment as well as finding good ways to use the GamePad the Wii U will continue to deliver.

Paranoia from the sounds of it you have a Wii U correct? If you can't play Xenoblade Chronicles. There's always the upcoming Xenoblade Chronicles which is a Wii U Title. It has a lot of immerse exploration and plenty of content. From the looks of it to combat, and using the dolls, and also the story if creating a new habitat on a new planet. It should suffice in place of Xenoblade Chronicles it's up to you though if course.

Never really noticed it. But since you bring it up it's interesting to note.

Re: General Discussion 5

Bloodborne is certainly not like a lot of other mainstream video games. Ever heard of Dark Souls? Demon's Souls? They are extremely difficult games designed around the players' skill rather than how much money they have to spend for a triple A game. If anything, tLos was based of a lot of other 'mainstream' games at the time (ala God of war). If I had a PS4 I would definitely get Bloodborne and Infamous, Uncharted, Metal Gear Solid 5, etc...it's just that consoles are so expensive nowadays. neutral

Re: General Discussion 5

Yeah that's why I went with WiiU. Speaking of which, Xenoblade Chronicles X Nintendo Direct today! And Flapjacks, personally I forgive Xenoblade Chronicles for looking crappy consider just how huge of a game it is, the console couldn't handle that plus the good graphics. All the more reason it should've been on the WiiU instead of the new 3DS though

Re: General Discussion 5

Personally i think MGS1 was the best, after that it went into a different direction. Although the graphics are awesome in later games though, i just feel the game atmosphere before and in MGS1 was perfect!

I may want to try Dark Souls, i have heard good things about it.

Re: General Discussion 5

Dark Souls is great if you can take the time to learn the mechanics and don't mind getting a little frustrated. Although the PS3 version has an area called Blighttown that's super laggy and frustrating which almost ruined the experience for me. I'm not a patient person myself, but even I was able to get through it. It's really rewarding when you finally overcome the challenges.

Re: General Discussion 5

Dark Souls is a great game, and 2 is also great, but 1 did some things better, such as the world. Dark Souls 2 used a crutch of allowing the player to travel between any of the bonfires, whereas Dark Souls 1 had a very inter-connected world where you could access other areas from later ones very easily, and was a lot more fun to explore, while Dark Souls 2's world is very disjointed, makes no sense, and traveling without using bonfires is impossible without wasting a lot of time. However, I think 2 did the estus flask and humanity systems a lot better. Also, playing Dark Souls 1 with friends is *bleep* near impossible. In 2, you can buy a ring very early in the game that allows you to pick from 10 different gods, and you will only see the summon signs of other players wearing the ring who picked the same god as you. So, if you want to summon a friend/be summoned by a friend, just tell them to pick the god of blood or something, put their sign at wherever, and you'll find them quickly, however, in 1, the summon signs are put onto a random server, so you need to place a sign, ask your friend if he sees it, then if not, wait ten seconds and place it again to put it onto a different server, rinse and repeat, 10 minutes later you will have found your friend. It's honestly not even worth trying to play 1 with friends. It used to be easier, with the DSFix mod (absolutely needed to play Dark Souls for PC,) where it'd sync the summon signs better, but now that Dark Souls has switched from GFWL to Steam, it doesn't work anymore.

wow i typed a paragraph about dark souls without even noticing
i like video games

Also, I got my old laptop up and running, did a factory reset, and then installed Windows 10 preview on it...it's actually pretty good so far

Re: General Discussion 5

Congrats on finishing college!

I was on the fence about getting Windows 10, but now I think I'm going to do it just because I accidentally clicked a sketchy link while trying to download Stepmania packs (don't ever click on Megaupload links, guys. Whoever bought the domain after they shut down has some kind of redirect bounce thing going on) and now I'm getting paranoid about viruses. No viruses if you reinstall Windows! tongue

I'm only awake right now because I'm waiting for my scan to finish.
