New Spyro game "most likely" in motion
One of the forum members took it upon herself to find some information that might pertain to the next Spyro game. You can all thank Aura24 for getting in contact with one of the composers of the Legend of Spyro trilogy. Rebecca Kneubuhl has confirmed that she and Gabriel Mann have not been selected to compose for the next Spyro game.
Personally I'm not really concerned about who is composing the music but this at least lets us know that another game is most likely being produced or is in pre-production. Any thoughts or ideas about how this new Spyro might turn out feel free to talk about it here.
You can check out the article with the actual email over at Spyroworld.net

Hmm...if they're doing a Legend of Spyro game then I wouldn't say that's too good. Kneubuhl & Mann's music were the best thing about the series. ![]()

I'm just happy to hear that there is actually gonna be a new game. As long as the composer(s) are good, I'm not too fussed.

Wow, this is interesting. It Seems that they may not be continuing with the TLOS atmosphere, or atleast trying to find a different style of the same thing.

Re: New Spyro game "most likely" in motion
yeah i was glad to hear this on the activision forums. Aura awesome job. I hope activision & blizzard continue in the Los universe & Los characters. i hope also the story line continues. We'll see hopefully they change composers but not style of music. Also i made a point about this in the activision forums & i'll say it here, Online play could be a factor that they could try. kinda like free roam different areas where u can meet other players, maybe fight them, create your own dragon. Even if the majority of the people want theirs to look like spyro, they'll have their own user name to set them apart & can buy different armor that will help personalize your dragon & aid in battle too. just a thought they could do.

That's an idea that I like, but we'll have to wait to see what they'll do with the next game.

Re: New Spyro game "most likely" in motion
I just hope that there is another game. With that news comming out it sort of sound to me more like there is nothing materialising here. That's just my theory. I don't know any better than you guys.
In any case I think that it's our duty to keep our own hope up and continue the hype for the next game up on the web where ever possable. If we can do this respectfully and nicely then we may spread interest and mabey be influenciul in the creation of the next game. I'll have to check out that artical how ever... nice work!
If tomorrow may never come, and yesterday is just a memory, then what is today worth?

Re: New Spyro game "most likely" in motion
Well they exceeded expectations by not releasing a Spyro game and seemingly are trying to take time to develop it.
I fear the Apocalypse is starting now if that is going to happen.

Re: New Spyro game "most likely" in motion
Aura has also informed me that through further email with Rebecca K. that she (composer) believes that they will not continue with the LoS direction. That's just her beliefs on it though so it's still undetermined.

I also talked to rebecca & she did state that she & gabriel wont compose for the next game & now RDX it sounds like they might not go continue the Los universe for the next game, man sounds like another spyro make over, dang i hope at least the Los characters are in the next game. hopefully they will continue with Los theme.

Re: New Spyro game "most likely" in motion
yeah i hope not. but didnt activision team up with sierra to make Dotd right? & didnt activision merge with sierra so there are some people who from Dotd helping mike. i mean all is not lost, mike is still making spyro if someone else other than mike would make the game, then we should be extremely concerned, but i think mike will balance out blizzard cause blizzard has a reputation to uphold too.

Re: New Spyro game "most likely" in motion
Well personally, I WANT A REBOOT. I could care less about TLOS, I'd be grateful if they'd let that go and start fresh.
Maybe this'll give them a chance to do a continuity of the old games. *crosses fingers* Rather that than more TLOS crap.

Re: New Spyro game "most likely" in motion
Hey, most of us actually enjoyed the TLoS. The only reason the LoS trilogy was made because they knew the Old Spyro was going downhill. They recreated Spyro world and the characters for a new start, and will most likely continue where DotD left off, or do a different story in one game each in the LoS universe.

Re: New Spyro game "most likely" in motion
To be honest I could careless if the next game is part of los or original spyro I play games ONLY for the gameplay and don't really care about the storyline. As long as there is good gameplay then I am happy.

That would be epic. It certainly would increase the number of people that want to play the game and it would greatly increase the replay value.

Re: New Spyro game "most likely" in motion
Hey, most of us actually enjoyed the TLoS.
Don't speak for anyone but yourself. What you just said was not fact but opinion and you will state it as so or else be called out as a liar.
Old Spyro was not going downhill. If that was the case then so is TLOS.
There were plenty of directions and storylines and new gameplay mechanics that they could've done with the Original Spyro that would've kept up it's continuity.
The problem with that was that they let the wrong ppl take over for Old Spyro's creativity. It wasn't that hard for many of us ppl who have NO DEVELOPER BACKGROUND WHATSOEVER (myself included) to come up with decent creative concepts for a game based on the Original Trilogy. The problem is also because the ppl who got their hands on Spyro were only concerned with money, they weren't concerned with making the newer games surpass the old ones with brand new ideas to work with. They used gimmics and overused plotlines (looking at TLOS for the cliched plotlines) to sell Spyro to the public.
But in a way they FAILED! They failed because at the time the only ppl who were interested in Spyro were the ones who played his original games, so when they come out with shovelware quality games it turned the majority of the fans off.
If you want to try to contradict me for that because I deemed your statement that: "most ppl actually liked TLOS", please refer to the threads BEFORE TLOS came out when everyone got a look at it's concept. Look at posts and see how dismayed the old fans were to see them change Spyro the way they did.
At the time, only a few ppl liked it, but that was because they were the NEW GENERATION. I will admit that a few of the "older fans" switched sides when TLOS came out after awhile, but realize that the majority of the ppl who actually LIKE the TLOS shovelware is the New Fans - the New Generation.
To those old fans that turned on Original Spyro - still feeling the disappointment here ppl.
I'm just saying that the excuse that Old Spyro was going downhill is bs. Stop being lazy and be more creative! As proof that creativity CAN be gleaned from Original Spyro, I will search for that old thread a fan posted here some time ago about his new game mechanic with the old characters. Brilliant ideas this guy has.
Like I said in my last post, I hope they reboot. Not just for a chance to revive old Spyro, but just to see if they can come up with a brand new concept to wow both the Original and TLOS fans.
Trust me ppl, it's not that hard. =/
