Hmmm... I remember seeing an advert based off this same Ty the Tiger one in an November issue of Gamesmaster (or some other gaming magazine back then) magazine in around November 2002.
Seeing Spyro in a Hospital bed angered me back then( I was 10).
Seeing this one slightly annoys me for some odd reason.

Bit late to this topic. I think this commercial is ingenious and i bet it was one of the things taht got ty so popular in the first plcae. I just find it hilarious. The Funny thing was that after ty started, crash, spyro and sonic were already lost causes. I really like this ad because it basicly just opened from the 5th generation to the 6th generation of platformers.

Ive never played ty 1. Im not a fan of ty 2 or 3 though, maybe because the australian stereotypes just annoy me and its made by krome *shivers*

Australalians are really good at advertising, ill give us that :]

Hunter's a cheetah, not a tiger...But it really doesnt make sense for a cheetah and a rabbit to be a couple, for that exact reason I used to think Bianca was a white cheetah with ponytails.

Back on topic. I remember seeing that commercial a long time ago. I never played Ty. Probably because I hated seeing the first video game character I supported/loved/whatever pwned.

I did play TY once at a pizza palor,It really didn't appeal to me but the mecha's were awesome= Lost planet anyone?

Spyro was the first series I considered myself a fan of, I'd played Mario Bros, but for some reason Spyro just appealed to me more. Not to mention it's the reason I have a dragon obsession. I was...around 7 or 8 when I first played Spyro?

Other platformers I've tried were Croc and Rayman. I dont know if Crash Team Racing counts as trying Crash...

I agree with Justin. If a franchise was dying, then they would've made one last game before closing the franchise forever. And we see no signs of the Spyro franchise closing its doors now, do we? Assuming that its dying won't help at all.
