I'm aware that "it's not even Thanksgiving yet!", but bear with me. I realized today that it's only about a month until Christmas! Aside from slightly freaking out that I need to buy presents irl, I thought that we could incorporate some holiday cheer in our community as well, because cynder

So I'm going to need your help to decide what y'all want to do. I have a few ideas, but they need to be developed a bit. Let me know what you think, and if you have any better ideas, feel free to share.

First idea: Secret Santa
For those who don't know, Secret Santa is an event where everyone is randomly assigned someone to give a gift to, and you keep it a secret until the gift giving. This one might be weird since it would be difficult to send physical gifts to people, but I think virtual gifts would work just fine! The gifts wouldn't have to be anything huge, and wouldn't require you to spend any money (unless you wanted too!) Some gift ideas could be: game download codes, digital art, avatars/banners, a sparx themed Christmas fanfiction, or anything else, just be creative! Everyone who wanted to participate would be assigned a number, and numbers would be exchanged randomly.

Second idea: 12 Days of Christmas
Spyro has snow levels, right? And as it works out, Spyro 1-3 has 12 of them...

Ice Cavern
Wizard Peak
High Caves
Icy Flight

Colossus
Crystal Glacier
Icy Speedway
Winter Tundra Home

Icy Peak
Frozen Alters
Bentley’s Outpost
Super Bonus Round

I thought it might be cool to have a 'daily' 12-day contest dealing with some of these snowy levels (obviously you wouldn't have to make your entry the day of, but you would post them on the respective day, which is one of the reasons I want to start early). The thing is, I have no idea how to incorporate competitions into some of these levels. Obviously we could do time attack for the speedways and the snowboarding in the Super Bonus Round, but other than that I'm looking for ideas! Preferably challenges that wouldn't need to be recorded since not everyone has that ability.

So if you guys think you would participate in either of these, please vote for one or both in the poll, and we'll go from there! If you have any better ideas, choose 'Other' and let me know.

One of these days I need to improve that poll feature.

I'm definitely up for both of these! How about a scavenger hunt type thing for the levels that don't have timed minigames? You could come up with a hint or two, and participants would use the hints to figure out which part of the level you're talking about and take a picture of Spyro at that location. Obviously these would have to be PMed so no one could cheat off of other people's answers.

Yeah, completely understandable about the time thing. For the contest, people could just do the challenges they have time for, and the winner at the end would be the person who won the most challenges. You definitely wouldn't have to do all of them, I don't think.

I'll help with the hints. Should be fun if we get enough people. big_smile

I will most definitely participate in the 12 days of Christmas thing if it happens. And I love Stormy's suggestion about scavenger hunts. But yes, I'll be on Christmas break, so I will participate.

It sounds good! Since most of my Spyro games are not here anymore, I could not join, but I don't wanna ruin to the others.

Would a fan art competition be something to consider? I'm no good at art, but I'm always amazed by what the fanbase can do with really great looking art...

Possibly Christmas themed art...
