It's still more than a month away, but it feels like it's any day now with how early everyone's putting their decorations and stuff out.

Yeah been seeing it all over. Halloween specials and such. Hey thanks Kitz. Wish there was fun Halloween thing you could go too. But have a fun day regardless.

There's actually a holiday here named Purim. It is the day when someone named Ester saved a king from assassination.

Re: Happy Halloween 2014 Spyroforum!
Halloween is not a hugely big thing here in Oz (Australia), but it is getting more popular. I'll be celebrating Halloween early this year by going to one of Movie World's (local MUCH AMAZE theme-park) hosted FRIGHT NIGHT events. Horror-themed mazes, scary costumes, and all the major rides open at night! Going to be fuuuuun!!! So that will be happening in a couple of weeks.

I don't really dig halloween. A harvest-like holiday turned into a satanic "holiday" ... just not what I like.

I don't know if I'd call it satanic. It's just the eve of all souls day. it's more recent origins are Christian. (It has pagan roots yes, but all that's come from the pagan-ness of it really is the costume aspect, and even that was Christianized by the Celtic people)

Re: Happy Halloween 2014 Spyroforum!
I have heard of some evil traditions that some people practice during Halloween though. Like killing black cats.

Re: Happy Halloween 2014 Spyroforum!
Yeah, I've heard of people adopting black cats from shelters just to "sacrifice" them. Some shelters apparently stop adopting them out around Halloween to prevent this. Pretty horrible.
We got our black cat from a shelter around Halloween. They did pretty much the opposite of that and tried to encourage people to adopt the black cats by putting them on sale. Guess they don't think that kind of thing happens around here.

Re: Happy Halloween 2014 Spyroforum!
Halloween is indeed used as an excuse by bad people to do evil things, but the holiday itself is not evil. The main thing it really is today is a chance for children to dress up as their favorite characters and get candy. I see no harm in that.

Re: Happy Halloween 2014 Spyroforum!
Agreed, people who would do something like killing cats on Halloween were probably going to do those evil things anyway. I don't see anything wrong with the holiday itself.

Re: Happy Halloween 2014 Spyroforum!
Heck, people use Christmas and Easter as excuses to do evil things too. Only makes sense that a holiday intended to remember the souls of our dead would inspire the same evil.

I love my black two year old cat. He's adorable and a big suck. But he's me and my mom's baby.

Re: Happy Halloween 2014 Spyroforum!
I know this is getting off topic, but get a Manx! They don't shed bad at all due to their dense double coat and don't put off as much dander. Not to mention their taillessness is adorable! We have a brown tabby female manx named Pippa and my uncle who is severely allergic to cats came to visit and was 100% fine. He even played with her and everything.
