Re: Sony showing interests in bringing back the Spyro and Crash license
Well, let's hope something will grow from this. There's could be Skylanders and Original Spyro series, that could be the best, because than the companies earn more money, and The fans are happy.

Re: Sony showing interests in bringing back the Spyro and Crash license
Definitely interesting news. I think a Crash revival is much more likely since he's not currently involved in anything. It would probably be confusing for the brand image to have two completely different Spyros in different games at the same time.
I hope people don't read too much into this, though. (Looking at you, person who keeps editing the developer and publisher information on the Spyro Wikipedia page, whoever you are. ) If I'm reading this correctly, House himself never directly references Spyro or Crash. I can't tell if "Will we see a Crash Bandicoot or Spyro the Dragon revival anytime soon?" was a question directly addressed to him or if the author just assumed he meant Spyro and Crash.

a lot of people seem to be missing the vagueness here. not necessarily on this site, just in general. he never confirmed a new game, just that it's an idea they're not completely rejecting.

Re: Sony showing interests in bringing back the Spyro and Crash license
I don't really care which company gets ahold of Spyro and I don't really associate with Sony anymore and would like Spyro to be multi-plat, but anything to rescue Spyro and co. from oblivion is good enough. I'm happy another publisher still cares about Spyro but we all know greedy Activision won't even lend them the license for HD remakes let alone sell them it for new games. Activision is the black-hole of gaming. Even Sony basically says that in this interview.

Like I've said elsewhere really. It's nice to hear this, but I'm not getting my hopes up, since companies say this all the time and often nothing comes of it.

Re: Sony showing interests in bringing back the Spyro and Crash license
Activision owns both franchises, but they are doing NOTHING for the Crash series, PERIOD. If Sony wanted to buy the Spyro license, Activison wouldn't take any offer, because Skylanders is doing extremely well in terms of sales and reviews, and I can understand them not wanting to give it up. HOWEVER, they are doing NOTHING with Crash, they would gain more money if they sold Crash back to Sony then making their own game that they wouldn't give two s**ts about. They are more interested in the sales then the consumers opinion on their games. With their logic fixated basically on sales, Crash will never come back. I mean, how many copies of Crash: Mind Over Mutant were sold? Not to say the game is good or bad, but they look at that and automatically think Crash is done. Sorry, just had to rant. We will NEVER see a new Crash game, EVER AGAIN. The day they announce a new Crash game, is the day I find out what's on that island in Midnight Mountain, so NEVER. Sorry, rant over...sugar rush...hold me...
PS. I may like Crash a teensy tiny bit more than Spyro...please don't shoot...

Re: Sony showing interests in bringing back the Spyro and Crash license
I was more talking about "the old days" on PS1 since both series got their start there and most of their fans came from Spyro 1-3 and Crash 1-3. When I talk to someone about games I played as a kid I always mention Spyro and Crash, and most people know Crash better, assuming they had a Playstation and not N64 when they were young. Some only knew Spyro because he was that demo included with their Crash game. Both series don't really have much of a following anymore (aside from Skylanders I suppose). It probably just seems to you that Spyro has more fans since you hang around Spyro fan sites.

Re: Sony showing interests in bringing back the Spyro and Crash license
It's a little sad that Spyro was a sellout in Skylander, and that as soon as the game became popular, they just kind of tossed him aside as secondary.
I honestly think that if activision gave Spyro more games, be it with classic Spyro, or maybe even TLoS Spyro (Considering the fact that Cynder is in Skyrim), they would refuel the hype that got Spyro fans into Skylander. To me, it would seem like a win-win situation.

Lololol that's true. All the skys get mixed up.
As for Cynder in Skyrim,i think she would be a perfect servant for Alduin.
