New Server

Hey all,

The server move is complete. All posts, private messages, threads, images, and everything else was all transferred over to the new server successfully! Everything should also be MUCH faster.

Don't you like that new dedicated server smell?

id just like to mention that you are a really good forum administrator, the last time i was on a forum that went through a server transfer the admin was a total *bleep*, he never so much as considered moving any of the threads and stuff that we'd all put so much work into (like the "faceman" competitions, which involved people taking pictures of themselves which met certain challenges set by one of the moderators) then the new forum was missing features which had been utilised in the previous forum, and when we asked if such features were going to be considered we were basically told (though politely) to shut up and go elsewhere if we dont like it

eventually he scrapped the forums altogether for a "social network" it seems kinda like myspace

the guy writes a webcomic and he basically said (in response to anyones questions or requests) that he didnt care about the people on the forums cuz they make up a very small amount of his readers

then he made a comic about closing the forums making it look like we were the ones who were horrible people

anyway, uh keep up the good work, its much appreciated by myself, and im sure by everyone else here too

I was up until 4am, but everything was transferred in its entirety.

There are a few little kinks that need to be worked out, but ill fix them.

Well, I like how the server moved... BUT:

Why did it take 2 days? I thought you said less than 24 hours. You should have at least put a note saying 'We're sorry, the move has been taking longer than we thought' or something.

And I have no idea what happened with this, but the link to my brother's art gallery died... Any idea on what happened?

It took a bit longer than usual because of some issues at the datacenter, along with it taking a little longer to configure then I planned.

Don't complain about downtime. I was up until 4 am configuring and transferring stuff.
