Re: Spyroforum Fan Game!
While I think we should focus on this project and give it the love and attention as if it was our last, and like to observe that a natural progression if we did more could be: 2D -> Isometric -> webGL 3D.

Re: Spyroforum Fan Game!
My "prototype" wasn't intended as a prototype for the actual game, just as a sort of testing environment when making things like keyboard input, drawing functions and a audio/sound system. But yes, adding gravity would be as simple as giving Spyro a yspeed(for movement along the y-axis) variable, and each step add a small value to this variable before adding yspeed to Spyro's y coordinate. Adding collision with a level would be slightly less simple.
Sound effects is the next thing I'm planning to add, and Gekoncze has added mouse support
I like both 1. and 2. of your story idead, Radspyro!

Re: Spyroforum Fan Game!
My enthusiasm gets ahead of me, but is no sweat I draw concepts like that. Perhaps we could meet up (all of us participating) for an hour a day in the chat? To allow for more free flowing communication. I am pacific (GMT -8). I could meet up almost anytime if scheduled in advance

Re: Spyroforum Fan Game!
Sorry I haven't actually composed any music yet, I was having some trouble in FL and I've also been at my dad's house this weekend. I come back wednesday, so I'll try to compose a track by the end of the week, hopefully. I've been pretty lazy, lately. Trying to recreate the original Spyro sound is harder than you'd think.

Re: Spyroforum Fan Game!
GameBoyBlue, since people seem to like both ideas, I wouldn't mind combining them somehow. The dragons would get hypnotized by a new/old foe, and perhaps Gnasty is the only one who can help out - But on top of saving the dragons, Spyro needs to do some favors for Gnasty (which could perhaps weave in with the dragon saving - Maybe each boss dragon is guarding a Gnorc)?

RadSpyro's idea is good too. Shorter as well. Mine is... 2 hours worth of thinking...

Yeah, I saw you come and leave too. All you got to see what Flapjacks call you sexy and me ask how the game's doing.

Re: Spyroforum Fan Game!
If we make a sidescroller, it may end up looking better than Spyro Orange as result of the medium we are using. If not as long as that game. It's fitting, Spyro was created to be something to test the playstation's hardware, now Spyro is helping test a fan community to make an easily accessible web game.

Re: Spyroforum Fan Game!
I'd hope it'll look better than Spyro Orange; the faces in that game still give me nightmares.

Re: Spyroforum Fan Game!
I'm only on Q&A team but anyway I also think sidescroller is better. It offers more platforming than top view (And platforming is what I expect from a Spyro game). But as I am only in Q&A I leave the decision to programmers

Re: Spyroforum Fan Game!
Looking good.
Also, I'll try to get a more complete version of the story soon. Has anyone been thinking about what types of levels we'll be having yet? Returning to the Dragon Realms, or a brand new world?

Re: Spyroforum Fan Game!
Since I'm doing art, are we doing this grid-based or polygon-based?
