Re: Dear YouTube Spyro fans
I told you my method is not foolproof, but even then try to bypass the right click and save the spyroforum logo on my example page and see what happens.
Also, metalhead is right, if it can be seen or herd it can be copied.
My method is mainly for protecting against people who really don't know they are committing art theft.

Re: Dear YouTube Spyro fans
If they got it from Google, that means they did get it from dA because that's how Google finds my art. And thank you. ^_^

I support you too, those youtubers who don't give you credit have to face the facts sooner or later.

Re: Dear YouTube Spyro fans
Uggh, Art theft disgusts me, especially since Most people are little kids who know nothing (And really, if you can use a computer you should know right from wrong by now...) and because most art stolen is either very detailed or is very good, and they do NOT credit the artist, which, really, is crediting themselves. (Which in turn makes for many angered artists who quit making beautiful art, which means the web is going to become ugly.......)

Oh god, looking at my old posts on here are absolutely cringeworthy. Hard to believe I made any friends, lol.

Re: Dear YouTube Spyro fans
Thanks for your support and sympathy, guys.
You're right, bananababy. I know a number of artists who left their fandoms over this sort of thing. Heck, I've come close to it, myself. We don't get paid to do this; our only reward is the praise given to us by others. And by not naming the artists, video makers are robbing them of what little they get for pouring their souls, time, and sometimes physical well beings into the art they do. It's disgusting and I don't care how young these kids are; they should know by now that stealing is wrong.

Re: Dear YouTube Spyro fans
I can't draw too well, so I don't know why anyone would want to steal mine...but if anyone steals my writing or makes an alternate sequel to it without my permission...oh there is going to be a large fight.

Re: Dear YouTube Spyro fans
What I think I would do if I were in this situation is to first get my art onto my PC, then I would Copy and Paste my art into Paint and type my username in or around the center of the picture.

Re: Dear YouTube Spyro fans
If anyone ever steals any of my art (Dunno why they would...) There would be blood splattered all over the web page they put the stolen art on.

Re: Dear YouTube Spyro fans
You're one of the awesome ones, DPX, and I very much appreciate it.
I always sign my work, but I put my signature in unusual places where it's a bit tricky to see so it won't detract from the art and so people won't be able to remove it easily. I might try digitally watermarking my work from now on, though.

Re: Dear YouTube Spyro fans
There are ways to watermark art so that people can't see it. At least, that's what I've heard. Still gotta think about it.
