Re: Spyroforum`s First Impressions of Skylanders

At first, my impression was negative. But I'm getting more and more impressed with this game. Most of us wanted a combination of Dotd and Yotd - and we got what we wished for. I should warn the Crash fans...

Re: Spyroforum`s First Impressions of Skylanders

My first reaction to this was negative. Is this really supposed to be the new Spyro game we were all waiting for, or is it just a new "kids" brand with Spyro's name on it? The toy-videogame thing is an interesting idea, but Activision aren't pleasing the fans- they're just doing business.

But maybe I'm jumping to conclusions. It's worth keeping an eye on this game.

Re: Spyroforum`s First Impressions of Skylanders

for me its just a big money scam.

Paying for the charictors will be like £5 each and with 32 was it? to collect a loyle fan must part with....£160...and thats for the charictors, then theres the game itself.

Negative for me. I am willing to see what they pull, but chances are I'd just borrow it

Re: Spyroforum`s First Impressions of Skylanders

Between unsure and positive. But instead of "judging the book by its cover" like most of the other fans are doing, I will try this game out and decide.

Re: Spyroforum`s First Impressions of Skylanders

Ultimate disappointment is what I have in mind. I think Activision just kinda wants to throw away the rest of the lingering fans for a few little toddlers that will but the game.

Man I really am starting to lose hope on this.

Re: Spyroforum`s First Impressions of Skylanders

Positive for me. I like to give new stuff a try out, and I am liking what I see so far. Just hope it comes out on platforms other than the wii.

Re: Spyroforum`s First Impressions of Skylanders

IDK, well at least from how the game looks, and what they've said, I guess they're probably going to throw away the whole 'epic story plot' thing right out; which in my opinion is a huge turn-off.

The game sounds kinda crummy when it comes to that; then again, they are targeting 6-12 year-olds.

Re: Spyroforum`s First Impressions of Skylanders

You wouldn't think it'd be difficult to make a spyro game.
Look at the originals: acknowledge what was done right, fix the little if anything that was done wrong and add some new awesome features.

Instead we get changes to core gameplay which makes me wonder why they made it a Spyro game in the first place...
Oh wait that's right, brand recognition = easy money and requires less creativity and effort than creating a new IP.

Not to mention the changes to appearance personality and story style. Obviously I was wrong, they didn't hold back in the creativity dept. which only goes to show that it was done 100% for the opportunity to piggy back off of Spyro's fame.

It just makes me want to cry and...
Wait a minute! You're telling me there's another monstrosity coming?
See people, this is what happens when you support crap like TLoS, I'm sure it was at least a decent game, but they mightas well dropped a bar of soap, asked Spyro to pick it up and *CENSORED*

So long story short, I hate it. Just like TLoS they've taken something that was once beautiful, creative, funny, innovative and just plain fun, and used it as a way to suck in a pre-existing audience.

Sorry if you liked TLoS or the idea of this game, as I said, I'm sure they are (or will be) decent games, but they've taken away the things that made the original games classics. The things these games do, could have been done with any generic dragon and nobody would have made the link between the 2.

Re: Spyroforum`s First Impressions of Skylanders

How can you complain that this is crap because it isent like the classics but TLOS was allrigh? This games style is closser to the insomniac era than TLOS.

Re: Spyroforum`s First Impressions of Skylanders

Unless they differ the genre compared with the original and the Legend series, it'll take me a while before I can adjust to this.

If I didn't sell my soul to the Spyro games, however, there would be probably be little interest from me right now since there's so little info.

Waiting for more news. HOPEFULLY this is another genre with different gameplay this time.

P.S. Hai Blueflame ♥♥♥

Re: Spyroforum`s First Impressions of Skylanders

Who knows? I like the design of the levels and the screenshots...but how the gameplay and the controls are going to work out - I have no idea.
At least it will not be as bad as The Eye of Judgement. Sony also likes to leech bank accounts.

Re: Spyroforum`s First Impressions of Skylanders

IDK, this new game is nothing like TLoS, from what i have seen. One of the things they put into importance in TLoS was a decent more serious plot; despite the fact that most fans think the plot was crud. This new game appears to go more with the classic style, but kind of a cruddy messed up version of it. Anyone think alike?

The Spyro in this game is confirmed to be based on the Spyro from the Original PS1 games.

Re: Spyroforum`s First Impressions of Skylanders

Yeah, so i guess he will have that kind of attitude and such. Well I think as a TLoS fan, i will step back from this game. It's not only that that keeps me away from it, but the fact that it will probably be horribly expensive in my country.
