Next Game - Spyro's Kingdom (Test Title)

I'm sure most of you had heard of the next Spyro game's test title, Spyro's Kingdom. It is an upcoming Action/ Adventure game that is due to be released in 2011, what month or time we don't know. A voice actor, Tom Bromhead, was revealed to be voicing one of the characters in the game. It is currently unknown what universe this game will take place in.

What do you guys think about this upcoming game? And what do you think the test title will refer to what universe?

Re: Next Game - Spyro's Kingdom (Test Title)

As you said, we can only speculate for the time being.

The title, referring to a theme or topic usually, suggests a few things. One, this kingdom may be referring to the original series. Two, a developement of one may be taking place in TLoS if not one is already in place. Three, addressing it as Spyro's Kingdom could mean he has started some sort of organized order or is just an inspiration for one that someone else builds upon his ideals.

Now what I want to know is how did you find out that it's an action/adventure game... or did you just make an assumption?

I wouldn't mind if the next game will be set in the Old universe. If it is, then it was Activision's decision, not the producers I bet.

Re: Next Game - Spyro's Kingdom (Test Title)

Another thing I can guess that the title test refers to is the awesomeness of multiple playable characters.  The ability to play as someone other than spyro is something other games have thrived on.  Maybe "Kingdom" incorporates the extended family that Spyro has.

Re: Next Game - Spyro's Kingdom (Test Title)

I'm hoping for gameplay elements from all of the generations.  I like the portal system in the first 3 games and the reliability of the attacks.  I like the multiple element thing and I like being able to switch characters in DOTD.

If the gameplay is like the classics, and if the story is like LOS with more funny moments, I'd be happy.

I'm really happy for you, but Jazz Jackrabbit is one of the best platformers of all time.

Re: Next Game - Spyro's Kingdom (Test Title)

the original games adventuring sense and a few other things combined with DOTD's graphics and functionality, seems like an awsome game if it is that

Re: Next Game - Spyro's Kingdom (Test Title)

the name "Spyro's Kingdom" doesn't denote the seriousness/emotion/drama/etc that TLOS had.

i'm thinking, either a new universe or an older game.

I got it!!!  They must be combining Spyro with Kingdom Hearts.  Thus, the title test...

Re: Next Game - Spyro's Kingdom (Test Title)

They could either be making a new universe, do it in the LoS universe that has a light-hearted atmosphere like the originals, or do it in the Old Spyro universe.

Re: Next Game - Spyro's Kingdom (Test Title)

I wouldn't mind a Spyro RPG, as long as it's good.  (says the guy who wants a Super Smash Bros. strategy game similar to Fire Emblem.  Or a Jazz Jackrabbit stealth game like MGS.)

Re: Next Game - Spyro's Kingdom (Test Title)

I'm still skeptical about the whole prequal to reboot move they made shortly after announcing ANB. If they are trying to do it again then be my guest. I've been knitting the two 'universes' together and surprisingly it isn't that hard to do. The two moons are present in both so that's something... but I shouldn't get my hopes up.

If they do go that direction then they have to explain where Cynder was the whole time.
