As I say again. Just because some "Bible" uses a name doesn't mean it is to be considered A great and sacred Biblical name or anything. A name is a name. Who cares if it was used in a story. Just because I names a kid Luke doesn't mean its a Star wars biblical name.

My opinion on her name would be my guess closest to "All that remains." If you think about it, Spyro did escape, yes, BUT Cynder was the last one known to exist because she was captured and all the other eggs crushed. If in the eyes of the dark master of course he would most likely name her after the remainder of her generation because even he couldnt foretell Spyro actually surviving or anything. Which this could also correspond to When the dark master would become free if something hadnt been messed up, The name Cynder like the term smoldering cinders and ash, *just like some names you could spell them different and sound the same* was to resemble he as the one to bring the doom. Ummmmm to better and more understanding, The dark master was going to turn everything to smoldering ash and cinder so how fitting would it be to have a queen after the state of the world he would make? The evil guy gets a laugh and he dies from old age....

I think it is just a referance to fire. some dragons have names that referance their element. Flame, Ember, Ignitous (ingnite, to set something on fire), Volteer (electricity, volts) Terrador (terra i believe is a suffix that means earth. in fact the Earth was once called Terra.) Cyril is actualy a real name. My dad new someone named Cyril in Vietnam. But Cynder isnt a fire dragon. So her name just means fire.

If it was a topic deathly serious about religion you would be right but someone only brought up the idea of her name being based on something religious. So long as members don't start arguing over it I really don't care.

Like someone said, it has to do with a rock, really don't think it has any biblical references, and if does I really don't see it mattering a whole lot. It would most likely just be out of pure coincidence.

If we're talking about how their names have meanings, every word that roams in the world must have an origin of where it came from. The name Cynder might sound very depressing, but the character is a misunderstood creature that ran away from the temple during the middle of the Legend of Spyro series. If you carefully pull out the suffixes of her name, you can tell that "cyn-" might be derived into attaching the word "cynical" as well. However, that's the only suffix match I know that I believe that sounds darkly. It makes sense to the people who knew their suffixes.

Biblical names? ... yeah your going to have to elaborate on that one... that completely went over my head.

Anyway, I think her name comes from the this little saying:

so and so will turn everything into Ash and Cinder... basically referencing any evil entity or mass that scorches the landscape with intense flames that the resulting area is no more than a flaming barren wasteland.

So her name can mean:

Then end of all suitable life

A by product of something evil or some intense fire

A foreboding reference that will plague said land.

Or her soul or heart is that of Cinder or that she'll turn you into Cinders.

Yeah.

What biblical names? Were did that come from? Unless you play some religous game then i dont see why a name would be considered biblical. a name is just a title to lable who we are so we have some sort of referance to that person.

Along my years of video gaming I've noticed that most of the secondary characters who don't have biblical names have a meaning to their name. E.G. Krystal from Star Fox was in a crystal for most of Adventures. Does Cynder's name have a meaning?
