The saddest song I've ever heard is "Concrete Angel" about child abuse. Not sure who it's by, but will edit if I find it soon.

I've heard a lot of sad songs, but this one stands out by a mile for me...

The saddest songs I heard is santuary at the end of kingdom hearts 2, and dreams of an absolution(silver's theme in sonic the hedgehog 2006) :cries:

Right when I read the title, I had to come here. I love smooth and sad
music, and I sometimes listen to it to simply slow down in life, and make
my heart feel comforted [yes, it's true].

I can see that many of these songs have pianos as the instrument, and
they sound great. The Christian song in the first, main post sounds
beautiful, too. Thanks for sharing.

Here is my share. I play guitar, so these songs have a smooth guitar
sound. Thanks for listening.
