"Retarded" used that way can also be offensive to well, the retarded.

I understand where you're coming from in that "a word only has the meaning the speaker intends" because I call my gay friends "fa****" all the time as well as the N word to my friends with darker skin and I make those words' history magically vanish and make them sound like endearing satires. They use them along with me too. But I never use them around strangers or acquaintances I'm not fully comfortable with.

Anyway, if someone is offended by such words it helps to be polite and explain yourself rather than acting defensive. Not telling you, specifically, but it's good advice for anyone.

It's just that while I was on the internet, some idiot posted something about Malefor being Cynder's father. I just wanted to get some opinions about that. REALLY sorry about that.
