And a mouthful he shall have, except I'm not sure if this will annoy people or change peoples minds but I have the right to change my theory, after all, that's how ideas develop. Well anyway, they aren't made out of soft squishy marshmallow through and through, as you get closer to their sweet delectable centres the marshmallow hardens, that's what gives them the ability to walk around and not just flatten out and envelop a surface. As such, there is enough softness to survive falling off cliffs and hitting walls without damage but enough rigidness to pack a punch when they need to, otherwise they would have been defeated long ago, a soft sponge doesn't hurt much unless you embed a rock into it and throw it hard and fast enough. Think of it as a punching glove, they aren't that soft but you get the idea.

I'd agree with that if he had wing joints the size of his head to beat the wings powerfully enough but he doesn't. Throughout history man has tried to fly by building wings that were sometimes twice the length of the human. Each time they failed because the man was too heavy. The wing length has nothing to do with it...apart from if it was ridiculously small. And yes, I do seem to have an answer to everything...except one, which I'm working on so I'm praying you don't stumble upon it.

You have an answer for everything don't you? Well thats why dragons wings are so big to compensate for that, you saw ignitus' wings in DOTD, they were almost bigger than him, so it would make him fly.

Strong bones would give them extra weight meaning they wouldn't be able to fly. All flying animals are light relative to their size in order to give them lift, hard bones would counter that.
