Welcome to the club, Razz and HIR! Now then, first topic of discussion: what do you suppose home life was like for Spyro and Sparx growing up with Flash and Nina? I'm guessing a lot of things got crushed (accidentally, of course.)

Now, before all else: it has been well established that Ignitus, the Fire Guardian of the Dragon Temple, saved Spyro when he was in the egg, and twelve years later became a Father Figure to the purple dragon of prophecy, teaching him the ways of the Dragon and of the art of world-saving.

However, where Ignitus has been revered for this, and in fact has the largest thread in the Fanclub section because of it, it seems that Flash and Nina have been all but forgotten. I find this unfair, because the truth is that Ignitus is not Spyro's only parent. Furthermore, I don't want this thread to be about who Spyro's 'true' parents are, because Flash, Nina, and Ignitus all have that position, no matter what. This club is simply for fans of Flash and Nina, as Spyro's other parents, and as characters in their own right.

All that being said, I found it unfair that the two dragonflies didn't get much screentime, because I think they could have been interesting characters. What sort of people would stumble across an alien entity (one that could have been dangerous to them and the people around them, for all they knew) and take it in as their own son? My only answer to that would be 'very compassionate people.' It was a big risk they took, but one that turned out for the better, as I'm sure they'd say. This scary thing three times their size that they found turned out to be their other son, after all. Not to mention the future savior of the world, but there's no way they could have known that. If one thinks about it, Ignitus, Flash and Nina were all responsible for Spyro's survival. Ignitus sent the egg off somewhere where it would hopefully be safe; in return, Flash and Nina provided Spyro with that safe place to grow up in.

The fact that they allowed Spyro to go off into the world to find out about his past, and allowed Sparx to go with him, also says a lot about them. I'm not a parent, so I can't know this for sure, but I'm certain that it can't be easy to let a child go.

So, in short-for anyone who is a fan of these two dragonflies, is intrigued by any of their aforementioned actions and the reasons behind them, and/or is irked by the number of cameos they had, feel free to discuss.
