Yes, thank you, I do realise that, but it doesnt mean I have to acknowledge it, does it ? Like I said in my post, for me, the whole "Spyro" franchise died when Insomniac left, like you mention, as soon as Year of the Dragon finished. This may be a very childish way to see it, but hey, thats me.

Yes. I'm quite okay with that. Spyro needed a rebirth, I guess. And although it's not something I enjoy (why would I, I was raised on happy-clappy Spyro and his allies save the world from humorous comic villains against all odds ) I just hope they don't stray too far from the formula. Spyro is, in essence, still a kid's platforming game. Mario has evolved over all these years but he hasn't become a darkened italian plumber trying to track down his kidnapped "princess" girlfriend in say, the back alleys of Italy. Spyro needs to retain some of its original spirit, or Sierra might as well just start a new franchise with a newly developed character, who will better realise such a plot.

I wouldn't like to see a return to the original series. As much as I loved it, I think Insomniac pretty much wrapped it up with Year of the Dragon. For me, thats where Spyro ends. Ive played ETD / AHT and the first two games of the new series. For me, I didn't enjoy them. Sierra can do what they like with "New Spyro" - keep the fans of the new series happy. I just hope they dont go back and ruin the "original" series more. It was, and still is, one of my favourite videogames series to both play and yes, even follow the story too. I love all the characters and I don't want some new company who probably hasn't even played the original series to try and adapt these characters to a new generation.

I don't see Sierra doing anything that involves the older games at all...and I don't think any company will. You are correct, they should leave the older games as they are. I don't want to see something wonderful ruined by one of today's developers. Sierra is as diehard as they come to introducing Spyro in their own image....and they are in no hurry to go back to the older games.

They have their Spyro product firmly established now....and they will run with it so long as it brings them sales....and when they do decide to stop..I feel that they will just give the character off to someone else....they have no reason or motivation to return to the older series..and that's a good thing.

Both series have their pros and cons...both are vastly different....but they are all part of the Spyro franchise. I will support both of them in every way that I can. But yes we will never fully be happy...but I really ache for something that will somewhat bring the fanbase together as a whole instead of arguing about such things.

Either way I'm gonna support where they go...but in either direction they would have some serious work to do.

It dosent have to be over the top serious- sorta mid way between the original and new stories. Pretty much old spyro with its tones of humor and stuff but just make it make a bit more serious.

The original games were not THAT goofy, they didn't use the "anything goes" rule and tried to fit everything into the big storyline. The enemies werent too rediculous either, Creative, but not random and rediculous like say enemies out of mario games. but yes, make it a bit more serious, and make the storyline more in-depth. Also make the minigames revolve around the main story alot mote, or just to do with the enemies doing something you have to fix (Most minigames did this so thats good, but some had just random things like "Help me find my ball" rather than "help me find my ball that the enemies stole and are going to use for their plan" or something, you know what I mean!

Keeping the new Spyro is now very favoured by me or old Spyro fans, While we are peeved about the gamplay change, The story change was a major turn off as well, and having that Gary-stu around would make the game still feel generic and nothing like the old ones. Its a dissapointment as I know many TLOS fans like the perfectness that Spyro has because and is one of the reasons why they favour TLOS.
But anyway, if they did go back to the old Spyro, they could easily make the Story more in-depth and dark but it would not be propper to include the same stereotical medievil world. The Dragon guardians and Cynder could be introduced, with the same personalities, But Old Spyro would not be as so "looking up" to them and for Cynder not as brotherly and that would just ruin the whole meaning of the guardians and Cynder for TLOS fans.
I ffind no real way where TLOS fans and Original fans could be happy. Even if they returned to the same gameplay as the originals but made it all TLOS I wouldn't be happier, And It might makke it even worse as as of now I could be able to complain about TLOS games while then I couldn't because they are too good.

They could give moleyair a grandson that could help spyro and cynder
Then add a fire dragon like flame and give him the ability to swim in lava
than add ember i guess to use her cute charms to sway the enemies so u can use a one hit knockout on them

I would rather they did not keep the TLOS Story if they did, I hate the gary-stu that new Spyro is, and the clicheness of the whole thing. Well I really wouldn't mind if they kept the story...the story has a lot to work with...but they need to develop the characters a little bit more...and yeah adding in more from the older Spyro character might help with that...but so long as Sierra is in charge they will keep to their story.

Even though the older Spyro didn't have much in terms of personality..a little bit of it would help if they mixed it in with the one they have right now.
