Well I have heard many many different theories to just who those spirits are....but If I had to go with something myself....I would have to say that they are the spirits of guardians long past....because in DotD...Malefor claimed that the true role of the purple dragon was to bring about the end of the world....so if what he was saying was true...that means that just about every purple dragon before Spyro tried to bring about the ending of the world....so why would they stop Malefor?....I don't know if he was lying or what....but the only other thing I can think of is the spirits of his old guardians like said before...and seeing Ignitus right after it happened only solidifies my view.

people on darkspyro are claiming those dragons were purple dragons. my own personal opinion is they were the old guardians that malefor killed. i don't think ignitus, cyril,terrador, and volteer are the same guardians as those. by the way, did anyone notice in TEN in the story of Malefor in the part where 3 dragons are behind him, who's the one in the middle? you can tell the one on the left is an earth dragon and on the right's a fire dragon, but what's the middle one?

Anyway, I'll check up on the purple spirits tomorrow when I have enough time. They probably were a bit lazy on the models, and I see why. What'd be the point of making a new model for like 5 seconds?

Hm...I actually might go back and play ANB now. Havn't played the console version for a while.

That was kinda funny when all those Spyro heads were attacking Cynder! I'm not being mean to Cynder, but the first time I saw it after beating Cynder in ANB, it looked both funny and very odd. Kinda like an acid trip...lol, not that I do drugs!

IMO, those spirit dragons were ancestral purple dragons. That's what I cling to.

That was in the first game. The final fury against Cynder.

And I think that it was all the purple dragons between Malefor and Spyro. Don't the spirits look a bit purple? They just reused the Ignitus model because they didn't want to make a new one.

And yeah, blue/grey really doesn't suit him. My first thougt was "Um...Is he covered in old brains or something...?" XD

Yes he did die, but his spirit materialized. That's what I always say with things like this, hah.

But Blue Ignitus isn't an attractive color to have -- it's like he's running out of breath permanently or something? I really don't think blue is a fitting color for him, they could've given him orange or something.

Ignitus did die but now he can one day be very much alive since he's the Chronicler now is how I see it. :-P

I thought he called upon some old spirits first, which I started writing about, and then I noticed they all looked like Ignitus which sparked another idea. Anyone want me to share?

Technically he is... as I know the Chronicler before Ignitus seems to be just a spirit. This can be the same case for Ignitus -- his spirit lived on to be the chronicler.
