I think it's pretty much a given now that it imitates God of War. Even Sierra said they were "inspired" by it. (which is code word for "we wanted our game to be just like it but we want to be subtle about it") They also said they were inspired by Twilight Princess, and my friend pointed out that the water tunnel area you go through after escaping the catacombs is exactly like that one current area in Twilight Princess' Hylian Lake. The one where you must fly through with some bird.

copied from the Serria Fourms. Too lazy to say anthing else:

▼Hidden text

I have returned from 20,000 leagues from under the sea to make this comment about DotD:

I know it is supposed to be similar to God of War...but usinng pretty much EXACTLY the same mechanincs in the game? People who have played GoW will know what I mean.

Seriosuly, the Golem in DotD is pretty much the same exact thing as the first boss of God of War II. Same move-sets, same stratagy, pretty much the same reaction commands.

The upgrade system is very similar to each other, but at the same time differant. Not much I can comment on that.

The fighting system is, again, pretty much the same. (Been using that word a lot O_o) You can grab enemies, use some sort of combo thing, and just run in and kill everything. One thing you can't do that you can in GoW is tear people in half *cries*

Even though what I just said seems like I am bashing the game or something, I AM NOT! I loved the game, and I am on my 3rd playthrough. This is just something I noticed and felt like saying.
