Yeah because a worthy dragon from each age is chosen to Chronicle the new age that is beginning...so whoever the Chronicler was...when he died he was chosen to be worthy enough to carry on the powers and responsibilities of the Chronicler position.

Well, I'm guessing at some point the dragon that was the chronicler died (like Ignitus), and he was brought back to be the chronicler when the current age began.

Well with the Chronicler his time was up...he was chosen by some higher authority(gods or something lol) to chronicle the age at hand...when he gave up this power to Ignituse...his immortality came due...and he passed on into the next life or something....prolly something he didn't mind...I wouldn't mind after living for god knows how long lol...would get pretty boring after awhile.

At least that's what I think happened to him..

I completely bought into the idea that Spyro and Cynder could actually be dead until I waited for the cutscene lol. I think it's kind of cool that Ignitus got to be the new Chronicler. I just want to know what happens to the first one since he kind of.. Died there. XD; Am I not getting this, or can dragons kill themselves whenever they feel like it here? XD; I did think it was kind of sad when Ignitus died though. When Spyro brought on dark Spyro and was going to try to go back.

they did that so there would something they could add on a new story a cliff hangar basicly

Well it had a story to conclude lol...the earlier games didn't really focus on story too much...so naturally it is a bit better..

I sure as heck wasn't thinking about it at first...not until I got halfway into the credits and was like...."Dang they better have a scene after this.."

Not to mention after ANB and TEN did the same thing about putting something after the credits....though I'll admit I wasn't thinking of that when I saw the ending.

Well I didn't think that they would just leave the ending like that lol...so I stayed around until after the credits...I mean come on you don't just end a game like that lol...there had to be some closure ....and it was there.

I thought it was the end of Spyro and Cynder until the credits were done and I quickly called my twin back into the room.
The ending was so sweet. ^_^

I was sad, but more so angry because I thought they were going to leave it at that. But I was happy pretty soon afterwords because I skipped the credits and then watched the final scene. >3 ^^
