the problem i had wasn't filling the firepits with flame.. thankfully i figured that out just prior to that where there are 3 of them you fill to open a door that has a red (or was it green?) crystal behind it...  what i didn't realise was that you have to STAY at the door once you have the fire filled up far enough an keep the door shut 2 or 3 more times... the fire, once you get it to a certain point, fills itself up.  i would never have guessed that it would fill itself up...  so i kept having to deal with wave after wave of the monsters cos the door would pop back open before i got the fire to the middle of the door again.  talk about frustrating... especially since those crossbow guys are a total pain ><
