This was a really good observation o.o It really looks like it is. It might just be! The Destroyer looks like a slightly re-vamped Mountain of Malefor.

Doesn't the Destroyer's head and Mounten of Malefor look like each other?
maybe they somehow have to do something with each other....

I don't think it could be the Destroyer's head, becaus it collapsed so it was destroyed.....But maybe....it wasn't destroyed completely and in DotD it was coming to life again...
