i looked it up too and i saw that on august 9, will wright said that one
expansion will bring back the pool phase which allows creatures to go
underwater

yeah that was always sposed to be in the game, but theytook it out, i think cuz of time constraints, so obviously theyll eventually add an expansion

should be interesting, im hoping itll be fully featured, allowing you to make a totally aquatic civilisation that has to goaround with a fish bowl on their head to go on land and space

i looked it up after seeing your post and it seems theyre making 2 expansions actually

one is cute and creepy, with tonnes of new parts for the creature creator that fit the "cute and creepy" categories

and the other is some expansion for the space stage that lets you beam out of your spaceship and walk around the worlds doing missions

Yeah, I was kind of dissappointed with some things mostly because they're so fixable that it drives me nuts that they weren't fixed. Kind of like how you can't start out straight with your pre-made creature in Creature Stage even if you had found all the necessary parts. I seriously did not want to go around as a quickly-made creature no that I did not enjoy controlling looking for those parts, (sorry Spore Cynder) and I'm kind of dissappointed in general that we can't revisit the Creature Stage with pre-made ones. I mean, Creature Creator had so much emphasis on Creature Stage, but you can't even use them for that purpose, and that stage isn't as exciting to begin with.

And yeah I HATED that aspect in Space Stage. I can't go around doing missions in peace without everyone demanding something. They just wouldn't leave me alone.

well with any luck, spore being made by the same guy behind the sims, will eventually get tonnes of patches fixes and expansions

i think expanding on the tribal and civ stages would be good, more like age of empires where you can go from primitive to medieval and all that

I suppose there's always mods. And I'm 90% sure that this is going to be like The Sims, in which they start releasing expansion packs to the dissappointed audience to meet their demands and make it better. It's always been a good marketing strategy, even if it is a little evil.

like when youre surrounded by 3 nations all demanding tribute which equals almost all of your current funds and if you say no then theyll blast the crap out of you...
