I also previously considered:
- video game career: IMO, I suck at pretty much most aspects of creating a game, whether it's coding, designing graphics, or making an opinion for a review
- music career: yes, I've played piano for over 15 years, but the chances of finding a decent job in the faculty of arts is pretty slim...
- voice acting career: for a short time, this was a serious consideration, but now I just laugh at this one. Also, chances of finding jobs in something this specialized is once again slim

As for me, it's all about music first. I'm gonna go deep into studying music and see where that takes me. I'll also do some vocal performance.
And as of right now, I'll also be doing theater. Not certain though.

thats very true,the defence force is a great source of income and aids you with education

all personal beliefs, cant argue with that, well except honour, i think a number of veterans will disagree, there isnt really much honour in killing people or watching people get killed, or getting killed for that matter

i dont know about that, i wouldnt consider firing a gun a useful skill (outside the defence force) but you might be talking about something else

9. Full-time employment
meh, id put the time into the game programming, that kind of industry probably wants to employ people when theyre younger anyway, so theyre more in touch with the current generation of gamers

10. Personal improvement
well there are a number of things you can improve about yourself, none of which id join the army to improve

I can agree with you about puting game programing time in instead of that, but i honestly what to do something before i spend the rest of my life sitting in front of a computer, not that its a bad thing.

Also the skills you learn in the military aren't just fireing a weapon. You can learn leadership, teamwork, wilderness survival (I think it would be interesting to just know), commitment and many other useful skills even for desk jobs.

Then again it all depends if they accept me or if my plans for the future change.
