If this game is anything like Pokemon Crystal or Pokemon Yellow, I'm not gonna buy it for a few new things to the same game.

DOn't judge a game by it's cover! It may be a remake, but too many things have been added -- it's more comparable to Emerald than it is to Crystal and Yellow -- but then again, Crystal was an awesome remake, too!

Battle Frontier is available, Sky Shaymin is available, Origin Giratina is available, Sky Regigigas also available, we also see the Frontier-shops (and maybe the return of the tutors, since I really need Seismic Toss for my Blissey), some new Wi-Fi mini-games, the new improved GTS, the new improved Union Room, some fun new features on Wi-Fi, and we also get to see I think the function of the Mystery Gift through WFC... hopefully.

Whatever happens, I'm getting it. Although the pre-order for the Jap version is expensive on my part (9800 Yen?! What the?!)... but I'm still getting it. And most definitely the English version, too. I might transfer all my Pokémon from Pearl to Platinum...

I wonder though, will this suddenly give a new step into the competitive-battling series? I mean, if there were move-tutors, they would teach some new stuff compared to what was available in Emerald, then... it would touch the battling community a lot! Especially if the tutors were so kind to at least help me build my idea of Attacking Skarmory...

I think the main thing is that you can get Shaymin's Skye Form (I think you have to get it to hold a flower thing at a certain point in the day though). There's also a storyline surrounding the three Regi's and Regigigas I think....... Not sure, its been a while since I went on Serebii.net.

not to mention the alternate dimension you get to go into where the gravity is completely screwif

Jap version will be released on Sep.13, and I'm definitely getting one (although it's a bit expensive). I can't wait to get S. Shaymin.

For those who don't know, Pokémon Platinum is the assigned remake for the Diamond/Pearl series. Why this is so raved about is because it was added elements that will surely perk the players... if you watched the trailers and read the news, you'll understand why...
