Yes, I've stated some extreme examples, but they're just to illustrate that WoW can be serious business to some people. As you said, just a generalization. Sorry if I didn't word things clear enough, but I believe I've clarified myself enough in the last post I made. End of discussion.

It's an analogy Fletch; stop taking me so literally. I'm just stating more or less the reality of what happens when most people falls in love with WoW. I'm not saying you can't do anything about it, and in no way does my previous post represents my logic or thought processes. But nice attempt at trying to straighten me out.

if you dont mean it, then stop saying it, are you serious? everytime ive said something along the lines of "WoW addiction only affects those who let it" you come along in attempt to correct me with "but its really addictive"

your previous post does express your beliefs (if not your logic and thought process too) which apparently is that, most people that play WoW won't be able to stop (thats pretty much saying "you cant do anything about it"), which I'm sorry to say, is *bleep*, actually im not sorry to say it, cuz it gives the impression that there are fewer weak minded socially inept losers in this world than previously estimated

just because you hear a few stories about parents who let their kids die, or guy who neglects his girlfriend, does not immediately make "most" WoW players addicts

because thats like (and dont take this seriously since its an analogy... actually its a simile)

saying most catholic priests are paedophiles because ive heard of 3-4 cases where one was

thats a good generalisation to make a joke about, but dont be too quick to believe it

drugs are chemicals which once inside you affect body and mind and thus cause an addiction you have no control over.

WoW is a video game, the only difference between WoW and most other video games is that it:

a) has no definitive ending
b) allows a constant source of social interaction

if you find yourself addicted to WoW dont try blaming it on the game, you obviously have problems completely unrelated to the game you play

your logic is the same that leads people to blame video games for school shootings, macdonalds for obesity and thats all i can think of at the moment

at the end of the day:
you arent going to kill people because of a game unless youre already a violent mentally unsound person

you arent going to get fat eating macdonalds if you eat it responsibly, like cookies, macdonalds is a sometimes food

and youre not going to find yourself incapable of leaving the computer to have a real life unless you already have problems interacting with people in a social environment or have some other problem with your life that leads you to retreat into a fantasy world

ive said it before elsewhere, but WoW only sucks away your life if you let it, i play WoW, and i enjoy it, but im quite capable of walking away from it, actually right now my accounts inactive until i feel like playing again, its like gambling, theres nothing actually wrong with it but some people cant control themselves, thats their problem, not the game's

But Activision Blizzard, are you sure your not talking about another company or get your information confused? Bilzzard is known for their RTS And RPG not Adventure games and they are working on 3 titles already (StarCraft II, Diablo III, and WOW Wrath of the Leech King)

BZZZZZZT thats your opinion, plenty of people enjoy MMOs and people dont generally enjoy things that are dull, it helps if you dabble into the social side of things since thats what separates mmorpgs from rpgs

Blizzard is a Company known for there Real Time Stratgies or RTS, When I was little I played Starcraft. Most if not all of their games involved Drama and deals with all sides of the stories. they did branch out into RPG or role playing games, Diablo 1-3 being one of them then MMO or Massive multi Online but World of Warcraft is a very dull game like most MMO's. high end to me, and many others i would guess, does not mean you have to have everything maxed out

3GB of RAM is more than most non "hardcore gamers" would have nowadays unless they bought the computer recently

my laptop i bought last year has 1GB of RAM, i could have found one with 2GB probably, but it would have cost me a lot more

nowadays, on the other hand, 2GB of RAM is common, and it goes up to 4GB from what I've seen, but again youll end up paying a fair bit more for it, and non-gamers (and/or animators/artists), arent going to see a need for that extra power

so they end up buying a computer than can run new games, but it still cant run them at full graphics
