I don't like him in A Hero's Tail but I loved to hate him in the old games. He was put there to be hated purposely, and it makes playing to the end of Year of the Dragon all worthwhile. Also, I'd like to share this little post I recently saw on somethingawful forums with you guys, because it made me crack up for its truthfulness:

Moneybags is really funny it was fun chasing him at the end of Year of the Dragon so yeah he's cool.

Moneybags was cool in the originals. He had some funny sayings, "What else are you going to do with those gems, buy flying lesson? Haha, that was a good one." XD He also had a really good personality.

Moneybags was AWESOME. I loved his voice, I loved his snobby, conniving attitude, I loved everything about him - except for the fact that he stole all of my hard-earned gems.
But yeah, I thought he was really cool. XD They destroyed him in the new games, I sure hope he doesn't come back in TLoS unless it's the way he was before...

I liked the original Moneybags. He always made me laugh, and he had a cool voice, too.

The AHT Moneybags? Err... not so much. Sure, it was cool that you could buy stuff from him, but his personality and design were bad in my opinion, at least.

He was rather more of a nuisance than being any help at all.

I don't like him either because all he cares about is his greedy self. If he was a true ally and friend, he would give spyro advice on complex puzzles, defeating enemies, and on how to learn new techniques for free and not for a price. I don't even know why he was even put into the game because he doesn't aid spyro in his quest to defeat evil not in the least.

So many of his lines were hilarious if you refused XD. Try Crystal Islands, where he says he'll turn you into a blue hedgehog. Nice Sonic reference XD.

He's funny when you refuse to pay him sometimes. My favorite was in Cloud Spires: you can decide to pay him, or you can tell him, "No way, you dork." Choose the latter, and he says something like, "What? You don't want to pay? What else are you going to do with all those gems, buy flying lessons? Haha, that was a good one."[/sub]

I think Moneybags was really funny in the original trilogy. I hated him in AHT, but in the original trilogy, he was great. Annoying, sure, but still very funny.

Guys wtf? Moneybags was classic! He helped mold some more characters for the other games! He was one of my favourite characters in the whole series!
