I still think that SR should be the one who selects certain individual members to do it. It would take pressure off himself and the mods.

I support this too, since I would imagine that only a few people would feel so strongly as to report a post that needs to be hidden.

I was wondering why you can do one word posts on BenHeck or TTGamer.

When I used to be a mod, we had a lot of spam issues. We used to have rankings (the highest was "Spyro Senior") that went where it says "SpyroForum Member" now, and some people were so obsessed with the rankings, they'd make completely useless replies like, "I agree" or "BOT, everyone!" or "YEAH!" just to get their post counts up. That was also how the "your post is too short" message came about. I had to ban a couple people because they would refuse to stop their useless chatter in the middle of threads.

I'd hate to have to relive those days.

I disagree. I play a ton of RPGs here. I love roleplaying. You're calling me a spammer now?

If you want to see high post counts because of spam, try ForumWarz.

2. People would spam to try to reach the 2000 posts, thus creating more posts to report.
3. Like DDR said, lots of trustworthy members don't post often enough to have that kind of post count.

A system like the one I suggested is used on Neosekeer.com, and it works fairly well. People know not to abuse the feature because the report page gives strict warnings about what happens if you do.

In my opinion, the benefits would far outweigh the negatives.

(Yeah, the post-count based "hiding-reporting" is a bit unrealistic.)
