Its a lot of work for nothing, since accounts can easily be recovered in the case of unauthorized access. All it takes is an email.

Then SR needs to apoint more mods if that's true.

We used to have a "school forum" for our school. (phpBB 1) I'm an admin there because I'm the only one who can use the panel. There is an autorank option there and it can be set on how many posts you have.

I can also see the mods getting bugged/harassed by members who'd like to "level up" if you will. Mods aren't perfect people, either, and I'll bet some of them might be inclined to show favoritism toward their friends. [/sub]

As for rankings, if members began to look down on newer members, they would be downgraded.

Plus, spyrorocks is the only active mod. He'd have to do it all himself, and who wants to have to rank every single member? [/sub]

I do miss the rankings though. I think if they came back, a new system would work better. SR or a mod could decide when you be upgraded instead of post count.
